    well, to be technical, nobody knows if Cyclops is really dead either, they never showed him die they just implied it, you never saw him disintegrate like Prof X did and all you saw as his floating glasses, so they could bring him back as if Jean's love for him saved him from Phoenix

    lol yes but the powers come back hence Magneto using his powers to knock over the chess piece at the end of the movie.

    I think he means in the first class time line, they aren't dead there and they even are hinted in Cerebro when Xavier first uses it
