    For sure. I think his Survivor Series '96 debut and Thursday RAW Thursday match with Hunter was the highlight of his pre-main event career.     Before that feud tbh, I don't think the Rock was very good. The Trips feud definitely had a hand in cementing his confidence, I think. He felt so out of place in 1997.

    In an effort to add some discussion: @Exalted you'd agree that Rock started going from solid mid-carder to potential star was after his great feud with Trips in 1998.
