Nails. Everyone needs more Nails in their life.

Underrated band that doesn't get enough attention. Really good symphonic black metal, a better Dimmu Borgir in my opinion.

1557709415 Maybe the best cover ever?

Surrounded By Thieves is their best work IMO.
  8. Black Wizard

    Metal, of the Heavy Variety

Morbid Angel worship in the best way possible. Sounds like the Covenant/Domination era which is my favorite.

I always found After The Burial's older music a lot more interesting. I haven't heard their new album besides that song but pretty much everything that followed Rareform kinda delved into mostly being just 8 and 9-string chugs with some melody thrown in there. Don't get me wrong, I love me...

Oh RIP, the video in the first post is blocked due to copyright. Bummer. Don't think anyone that isn't into metal would come to this topic anyway so it isn't a big deal but I thought I'd put it there just in case. That's what I get for trying to be all educational and shit. Oh well. I'm not...

Even more essential doom listening. Industrial/drone doom
  12. Black Wizard

    Metal, of the Heavy Variety

More essential doom listening. Funeral doom is without a doubt the best style.

I can respect that. I found them around 2006ish, didn't like them but went back and checked out their older stuff and loved it. Probably has a lot to do with the fact that I also come from a background of 80s/90s goth music which had a lot of edge to it. I see their appeal but it isn't for me...
  14. Black Wizard

    Metal, of the Heavy Variety

This is a must listen doom metal album in my opinion. It's death/doom, and hugely influential.
  15. Black Wizard

    Metal, of the Heavy Variety

Very unfortunate that this band didn't stick to this style and instead turned into... mainstream goth... pop rock? Don't really know what to call their later releases.
  16. Black Wizard

Sickest thing I've heard in a long time. Nails always deliver and Max is an absolute legend.

Yeah, it all worked out. Abbath is keeping the Immortal sound, and with Demonaz in the band the last album kinda sounded like Blood Fire Death era Bathory. Hadn't heard it in a bit, such a great album.
  18. Black Wizard

    Metal, of the Heavy Variety

Even after splitting from Immortal, Abbath is still great.

Breaking the black metal chain, but it's Meshuggah. Respect the Meshuggah.

I love Deafheaven too. A lot of people call them "hipster black metal" because it's a post-black/shoegaze fusion, but I don't care, they're great.
