It's far more political than musical. RUSH didn't get in because, Jann Wenner was personally against them...he responsible for a lot of well known bands not being in. Now that Rolling Stone doesn't carry the weight that it used to, he's now no longer on the nominating board. -

LOL, you're hilarious. If you're going by that then, Korn doesn't get in. They've had one song in the top 40. So, you mention influence being important...there you go. Rap's fine, but it's now a catch all for music. There's already a Country music one, R & B one...no Rock band is getting into... -

I despise Eric Clapton. I think he's been living off his reputation for decades. He's a lazy guitarist, who granted is better than most, but has stayed pretty much the same rather than progressed. He was also the weakest of the big 3 from the Yardbirds. Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page run circles...
