Yup that has to be the ending and I just wonder how dark it could go because who is the King at that time Scar and Mufasa's Dad I imagine right? So we had Scar vs Simba for the Crown at the end but what did Mufasa do to get the Crown. The possibilities are endless.
Do I need a Mufasa Live Action Film would I say no but the idea of how he became King and how that differs than his Son could be interesting. You can weave in Scar and the problems they had leading to what happens in The Lion King.
