I disagree I just think we should just mind our business. Especially as people can transmit the virus regardless of vaxx status. Vaccination passports do not work according to many scientists
Even if people can still spread the virus without a vaccine, it still reduces symptoms, thus making it harder to spread, and also allows someone to fight it off faster and get back out sooner. It isn't an end all be all 100% success rate, but it helps. And I'll also say that three of my family members got COVID early this year, one was my grandfather who is around 80, high risk, and the other two were my Aunt and Uncle and my Aunt had a stroke before and my Uncle has asthma and sleep apnea. All three, if they weren't vaccinated, probably would have been hospitalized from it or worse.
I am vaccinated just got my third dose a few moments ago, I am not a big fan of the whole vaccine passport thing and having to show when I enter some businesses but I don't care about being asked if I am vaccinated or not. The passport thing is just a bit annoying to me, but it's not that bad I would say.
And I'll put it in terms of a Canadian concept called "Reasonable limits." For a right to be infringed upon, the infringement must be "be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society" what that means is there is a high bar to set rules in place that limit a right and having businesses ask if someone is vaccinated to do certain things which leave a higher risk for transmission of the virus is reasonable. There has to be a "pressing and substantial matter" at play which in terms of COVID transmission is a matter of health. Not just the safety of people, but overcrowding hospitals is a very real risk with the infection rate. Anything to help lower it is helpful. Then it must be "proportional" in its effects as in the infringement must not outweigh the benefits. And getting a vaccine is easy, overall safe. And let's say in terms of a restaurant, you can't sit down to eat in, but you can still do takeout. We have had this conversation in class before. It isn't "rude" but it is overall justified, even with some room for debate.
"Normie" or reasonable, and in my case, educated more than the average person on the legal aspects of the argument. We've said it to you many times over the years, having a different opinion to the norm doesn't make you "special" and following guidelines doesn't make you a sheep.
I believe it can be considered rude like if a person asks someone else if they are vaccinated just to make fun of them, like "Oh you're vaccinated??? Wow that's ridiculous" or "Oh you're not vaccinated??? Wow that's stupid" I'd say yes that is kind of rude. But if someone is just doing his job and asking politely to show proof of vaccination, then no I don't think that's rude at all.
