WWE Undergoing Releases

No issues with these at all, feel very much in line with the last round of releases where it was people right at the bottom of the pecking order. Veer had something though, just wish they tried something with him other than the stereotypical get up he was always in.

Been a while since we've had a batch of releases.

I had a soft spot for Xia Li, enjoyed her NXT story with the 1,000 year old ghost witch even though it felt like a halfhearted attempt to do Lucha Underground stuff. Thought her intro vignettes when she got called up were fun, then she got 180'd and those were dropped, and kind of floated doing whatever. She'll probably pop up in TNA soon, ish.

Xyonn Quinn feels like a strange case and not just because his name sounds like hayfever medication. He didn't really break out during his NXT run and got sweet fuck-all on the main roster. I feel like he was a case of 'well this isn't really working out so let's give him a few months of a main roster payday then we'll see what happens' I guess. Wouldn't be surprised if the likes of Odessey Jones or Cameron Grimes are on the shortlist too.

Veer is no longer coming. Shrug.

Oddly, Sanga is the only one here that I vividly recall actually enjoying to a degree, for two reasons:
1. His Gentleman Giant gimmick in NXT post-Indus Version 1 and pre-Indus Version 2 was a welcome relief from the tired foreign heel schtick, and I felt he did that part pretty well. Then he got shoved with Veer anyway because, y'know, gotta have that foreign heel sctick somewhere.
2. His name is slang down here for Sandwich and that just tickles me.

Jinder Mahal fucking sucks. Dude is the single worst wrestler that has ever smeared himself across a WWE ring without an excuse for it. He's an injury-prone botch machine who somehow got an extreme amount of milage out of having the skill and charisma of a mannquinn, whose only selling points have nothing to do with him - A produced entrance and a 'fresh taste' in lieu of the usual main eventers back during his WWE title run. Y'know, like how there wasn't also a roster of countless other wrestlers who would've also been a fresh taste to the scene in addition to being able to wrestle a match without being accompanied by narcolepsy. Dude is the drizzling shits, and is so slow that the 80's called and asked if he was able to step it up a bit. Now, that being said, while I'm far, far from a fan of him, at the end of the day it's still someone losing their job and I'll rarely if ever celebrate that. I'd always want a sucky wrestler to stop sucking and get better at their work. Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere and improves to a sustainable degree. Put in the work and he'll be fine.

This has been another edition of Wolfie's shit takes, sponsored by Paul's Bunion Cream. Don't @ me.

Just now seeing the latest releases...tbh, I am sure that this is going to make others in WWE worried. I do firmly believe that if they make it to the main roster then they should at least get a fair chance on TV and not just live events or WWE speed or whatever. Xyon never really got much of an opportunity. Just like Odyssey Jones and other still haven't now.

I don't dislike any of those who were released...and hopefully all of them land someplace.

They did at least try with Xia Li a little though.... Sure, she wasn't ever a champ of any kind but they made a few attempts of using her. I just don't think that they had any idea of how to use her long term, which I imagine is why she was released. They had nothing for her. Probably something to keep in mind when releases happen actually....it's not completely that they feel like the wrestlers sucked, but it could be that they have nothing for them. It is interesting that this is happening right before more NXT wrestlers are likely moving up.

While we're topic, when's the last time Dexter Lumis popped up? Feel like it's been ages and I don't even remember hearing if he was injured or not.
