Robin Williams dead

Deezy

Robin Williams has committed suicide.

The comedian killed himself in Tiburon, in Northern California.

According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office ... authorities found William's body inside his home. They say he was found unresponsive.

He was unconscious and not breathing and the coroner suspects suicide due to asphyxia.

Williams was last seen alive at his house at 10 PM Sunday night.

Williams went back to rehab last month to focus on his sobriety. We're told alcohol was an issue.

Williams struggled with cocaine and alcohol abuse in the early '80s but was sober for 20 years.

Williams was 63.

No fucking way.

Wow, a comedian whose comedy I loved as a child, shitty going out with suicide, just left alot of heartache with that decision.

Oscar winner and comedian Robin Williams died this morning at 63. While his publicist wouldn’t confirm that his death was a suicide, a rep did issue this statement. “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

Williams, who won an Oscar for his supporting role in Good Will Hunting, will reprise his role as Theodore Roosevelt in the third installment of Night at the Museum this December. He had recently signed on to reprise his beloved role as Mrs. Doubtfire in a sequel to be directed by Chris Columbus, and was last seen opposite Annette Bening in the indie film The Face of Love. His sitcom The Crazy Ones premiered on CBS last fall, but was not picked up for a second season.

According to a press release issued by the Marin County Coronor’s office, the Sheriff’s office suspects the death to be “suicide due to asphyxia.” The 9-1-1 phone call came in just before noon today.

Update: Fox, which will release the third Night at the Museum film, has issued the following statement: “There really are no words to describe the loss of Robin Williams. He was immensely talented, a cherished member of our community, and part of the Fox family. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and fans. He will be deeply missed.”

So sad :(

my absolute favorite movie by him was Jumanji. Pretty sad to see him go. I feel like he had much more to give. Its pretty interesting to see the lives of some comedians play out, it seems like they are constantly dropping :/

Would probably pick the Genie from Aladin as my favorite childhood character, but thought he was great on Insomnia. But I still can't get over suicides it's frustrating to see people who can have all the help they could ever need and still go to that solution.....It's never a solution, the only thing it ever does is bring even more sadness to the people who loved you and were there to help you through all of it.

Such a shame. I was a big fan of the guy, and he was fucking hilarious. A great actor too in his serious movies.

Well played Smoochie, well played indeed.

I liked him, obviously Rainbow Randolph would have been my favorite character he played. Still took the cowards way out, so I don't feel the need to show any respects or the sorts.

Clearly many people very happy, and made a huge impact as an actor and a comedian. Like deezy I also really rated his performance in Insomnia as well as in The Fisher King, and One Hour Photo. 63 is no age to be dying, let alone taking your own life. This is always worse for the family and friends. RIP

I always find suicides in the second half of life so odd. It's like you've already been through a lot of shit and somehow something still pushes you over that edge. You'd think the hardest part was done by 63.

So sad. He was one of those people you could grow up with, from watching him in children's films like Aladdin to seeing him in more thought provoking roles such as Good Will Hunting as you get older. I didn't even know he suffered from depression. It used to seem like the funniest people in the world were always the happiest, but that's proving to not always be the case.

I'm surprised at all of you for dismissing suicide as nothing but a selfish act. Not to sound like a dick, but you're all SO misinformed on the issue. Depression is a clinical condition that can affect anyone, no matter how old or how rich you are. It's not a weakness or an over-exaggeration on feeling sad, it's a serious problem. People with severe depression don't always think like a normal person, or a non-sufferer to be more exact. It's a mental illness that can change people drastically in how they think. Often times victims believe that the world/family/friends are better off without them, and that committing suicide would almost be an act of generosity. I'm sure a lot of things were going through Robin's mind before he killed himself - it's never just an 'easy way out' or an act of cowardice for people with depression. To think that is simply ignorant.

It's sad yes....for the people who have to live in the aftermath with such a selfish act as suicide. Depression is a terrible affliction, but let's not act like it's this thing that you can't treat. This isn't cancer.

Boo fucking hoo you have a sob story....Everyone in the world has one. Most deal with it like grown ups. Depression is such a western society condition. Do we ever hear anything about people in countries with wars, famine or genocide suffering from depression? One would think those problems would give you some REAL blues.

Easy way out, a selfish move and you don't fix anything by killing yourself. Only thing ignorant is those people with depression who think killing themselves is a good option....fuck em. Darwin sorted them out.
