Destiny’s Child alum, Ms. Kelly Rowland, is in full promo swing at the moment with the recent release of her third solo LP, ‘Here I Am’. Besides the album’s top three debut, more cause for celebration comes in the form of the set’s chart-topping single ‘Motivation’ being certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The Lil Wayne assisted smash has sold over 500,000 copies and is Kelly’s first solo gold single, and her second solo certification behind her debut, ‘Simply Deep’. Congrats!

Though rocking stages on a nationwide trek with Lil’ Wayne in promotion of her sophomore effort ‘No Boys Allowed’, ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ singer Keri Hilson sat down with Billboard.com to reveal she’s already starting work on its successor. But, while fans may be anxious to know more about her third studio effort, Hilson dished there is still more in store for her current release.
See what Miss Keri Baby had to say about these topics and more after the jump:

On her new album:
“It [the concept] may actually change, but I think it’s the one. I’m starting conceptually to figure out how I want to bridge the gap between my second and third albums… But even when you’re promoting your album and still releasing singles, you still have to think about your future. You have to prepare because so much goes into it. So I’ve got that little bit of an idea, which is a start.”
On potential next singles:
“We have to narrow it down very, very soon and shoot the video,” Hilson says. “We’re proud of the fact that we have so many options on my albums for singles, but for the next one I really want people to get the concept of the album. I think some of the singles that we’ve chosen so far don’t quite encapsulate the album title and theme. I straddle the fence between getting the concept out and just having a simple, great, successful song.”
“I believe I’m going to shoot two more videos after “Lose Control.” The single pickers udnermine that I still have a point to get across. There are core records that really do that. I would love to release one or two of those. After “Lose Control,” I’d love to release “All the Boys,” “Buyou,” “Beautiful Mistake”… “Hustler.” We just have to narrow it down and shoot a video for the one we think people will love.”
On shooting her own videos:
“I would love to tell a story and shoot more videos on my own,”. “I would love to do more accessories. I would love to do a short film-style video…because it’s a real story of single women who are dating. I keep it real. I talk about how we really think and how we really feel. So I think there’s a message to still be had from this project.

It’s been a pretty minute since we’ve heard from Tweet.
Indeed, a label change and an halted comeback attempt have kept this Southern Hummingbird caged for almost 4 years.
Now, in a recent interview, the ‘Oops, Oh My’ singer has lifted the lid on what’s kept her musically inactive, her comeback, and forthcoming tour.
Full story after the jump…

Via Woodstar Festival:
She titled her third release Love, Tweet because “it’s a ‘Thank You’ to my fans that never left me, who are still there on MySpace, Twitter and Facebook, checking for new developments, and coming up to me on the streets saying ‘We’re still supporting you! Come on, we’re waiting for you!’ So it’s just a love note to my fans saying ‘Thank you’ for all of the love and support.”
But the excitement was sadly interrupted with the passing of her mentor, Jheryl Busby, leaving Tweet again wondering if this “music thing ” was something she still wanted to do. She was again silenced.
“It was a hard time for me but I thought I can’t give up, especially not now, I owe it to my fans, to Jheryl and myself to make sure this project comes out. Instead of a note to my fans, it will be more like a letter.” laughs Tweet.
Now having to start things all over again, Tweet is ready. New slate, new album new vision and new songs. Leaked favorites like “Good Bye My Dear”, with fellow Atlantan and two-time Grammy-winning rapper T.I., and “Anymore” produced by Novel (Joss Stone) are no longer and she says her fans will not be disappointed with what’s to come.
“I took it back to Southern Hummingbird…acoustic, in your face lyrics.” she says excitingly. Like “Love Again,”(on ITunes) produced by Charlie BeReal and Craig Brockman which she describes as “Mary J. ‘What’s the 411’ in a very Tweet way.” “Love Again” is about “being confused about love and wondering if you want to go there again,” states Tweet. And then there’s the acoustic record “Alone,” produced by Tweet, Nisan Stewart, Charlie BeReal and Craig Brockman reminiscent of her own “Motel” from Southern Hummingbird. “‘Alone’ talks about being faithful to a person and putting all of this time in and still feeling like you’re by yourself. True story — that happened to me.”
“I put together a lot of records I think everyone will enjoy: My Tweet fans, and also the people who really didn’t get to know me,” Tweet continues. “I’m introducing myself to them with an album I’m proud of.”
Sounds like the world should step back— and prepare for Tweet’s roar again.
Though somewhat of a sceptic when it comes to ‘independent’ releases (the major label machine still wields too much power), I will willingly turn into a believer for Ms. Tweet. Vocal butter, her voice is everything; most certainly one yours truly is ready to welcome back. Particularly in light of the Jersey Shore fist-pumping cuts which are all the rage these days.

We’ve said it many a time, but life for Kelly Rowland post-Mathew Knowles really does seem to be getting better and better.
Indeed, on the heels of her chart topping success and recent endorsement deals, the 30 year old has reportedly signed on to star in her very own sitcom. On a major network, at that.
Full story after the jump…

Via our good friends over at The YBF:
It’s indeed “Motivation” singer Kelly Rowland’s year. On the heels of a #1 single and hit album Here I Am, TheYBF.com has learned Ms. Rowland just nabbed a deal to star in her very own sitcom!
A major cable network just offered Kelly Rowland a deal to star in her own sitcom.
We’ve learned the deal was just put on paper yesterday, and the deal should be signed, sealed, and delivered within a few weeks.
She’ll begin filming the pilot episode of the yet-to-be named sitcom January 2012.
Kelly is sharpening her acting chops with her new role on the upcoming ensemble cast movie Think Like A Man. And she’s also starred in “Girlfriends” a few years ago and movies like Seat Filler, Mama I Want To Sing!, and Freddy vs. Jason.
While we can’t yet reveal which major cable network offered up this sitcom deal, let’s just say the network is no stranger to giving YBF chicks their shot at stardom.
Kelly also recently confirmed her tour will kick off this September. And Chris Brown & T-Pain will be joining her in the multi-city fun.
More details soon….
Should this prove true, it’ll be one hell of a coup for Ms. Kelly – whose recent fortunes have seen her land a role as a judge on the X Factor UK and score her biggest solo hit to date with ‘Motivation’.

If you weren’t excited for Mary J. Blige’s new album, Pharrell is about to change that. The super-producer, who usually keeps quiet when it comes to his collaborations, couldn’t contain his excitement over the R&B vet’s project.

“You got to hear her. All I’m saying is, When ya’ll hear MJB’s album, the queen is back! That’s all I gotta say,” said an enthusiastic Pharrell during an episode of Jermaine Dupri’s vlog series “Living the Life.”
My Life II: The Journey Continues, the sequel to Mary’s 1994 sophomore LP, is slated for a fall release. In addition to Pharrell, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has been in the studio with J.D., Rico Love, Swizz Beatz, songwriter Andrea Martin, and Nicki Minaj, who appears on “Feel Inside.”
“She’s brought black music back on such an incredible level,” added P. “It’s amazing the kind of musicianship and the kind of poetry that’s on this album. This is one of the most amazing albums I’ve heard in a long time. I am so honored to be a part of it because it’s someone I like, admire, and is also a legend. When you guys hear this shit, reefer sales gon’ go up.”
We’re not sure exactly what he means, but we’re sold.
