"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair made his official Ring of Honor debut last night during their show in St. Louis.

Flair did a promo in the ring putting over the company, claiming the ROH locker room would produce "the next Shawn Michaels", and that he and ROH will work well together.

ROH champion Nigel McGuinness eventually confronted Flair, saying he wouldn't criticize him as a wrestler but that he was a terrible father and husband. This led to the two verbally tussling back and forth and even prompted a storyline tease where Flair would manage his son Reid Flair to challenge McGuinness for the ROH title. Flair left the segment claiming he would see McGuinness "next week" in Virginia.

As luck would have it, that wasn't the last those two saw of each other in St. Louis. Flair returned later in the night during a McGuinness title bout to make the save for his opponent, Brent Albright, who McGuinness and Claudio Castagnoli were double-teaming. The show ended with Flair raising Albright's hand.

It is believed that Ric Flair has signed on to work five more ROH shows, including talk of him possibly getting involved as a special referee down the line.

Sounds pretty sweet. May have to DL the Reid/Nigel title match. IDK that I've ever seen Reid wrestle.

Isn't Reid signed with the WWE? I could be wrong.

Nope, but its almost like a handshake deal where in the next year he will be.

From what i saw of Reid, he's still needs more training. A stop at ROH should help him in the longrun. Now ROH just needs to bring in Steamboat Jr.

This is the biggest name RoH will ever have grace it's shows, hopefully it's more interesting than Foley's stint, but I dunno about that with allying him with Albright, who is a black hole of charisma to me.

Cool, its nice to see flair doing something good out of the wwe. I like the fact hes in a kind of program with Nigel McGuinness, good choice in my opinion.

Next time, don't put the spoiler in the title. Kidna defeast the whole purpose of marking it as a spoiler, so I edited it. But man, Flair is a bum. If you're going to retire, retire. I hope he realises he'll never get that big "last goodbye" back, and when he's doen for good from places liek ROH and other indies, he'll just fade away, he won't get the shot to have a big farewell storyline, witha show revolving around him. It's good for ROH, but makes Flair look dumb, even if he's not wrestling (yet).

I totally agree with you mikeraw. You know about a month ago around No Way Out a week before or a week after I am not sure exactly but when Rick Flair was in teh ring with Chris Jericho and he told him exactly that and that he is a sellout to all of these people here tonight' I coulnd't have agreed more with what he had said.

I had respect for Flair and a lot of it but as of late he has shown nothing more then disrespect for people like Michaels, Triple H and others that put him over in that storyline and pretty much that whole roster. And he shows nothing in return but to slap them in the face and just go to ROH even if it is a possible Referee job.

I'll disagree.

#1) Ric Flair was announced he was going to ROH a month ago, and that's not a spoiler. Evil Austin simply posted the results of Fridays show, which Ric Flair was on.

#2) Ric Flair is doing this more as a favor to ROH, rather than Ric Flair trying to promote himself. You don't think he could make a ton more money in WWE/TNA? Plus he's helping his son train and get over.

#3) Yes Ric Flair is retired, and NO he hasn't had ANY matches since retired. Just because he retired from wrestling, doesn't mean he wouldn't show his face again. If you thought that, you were dead wrong. Every big legend pops up every now and then.

1-Oh, ok, I never saw the show, and he had "spioilers" in the title, so I assuemd it hadn't happened yet.

2-I don't care why he's doing it, and I never said it was for the money. I still think it's embarrasing though that he did retire less than a year ago, and he's yet to be off TV for more than a few months at a time.

3-Obviously legends will show up again. Higan has shown back up like 30 times. But he tooks ome time to retire first. Flair just retired about 10/11 months ago, and he's already working these promotions.

All I'm saying is, if he was going to do all this stuff, he should've just left WWE, and been written off in a storyline somehow (maybe have Orton take him out), instead of sayign "he will never step foot in a ring again", and "his wrestling days are done".
He probably knew he would do stuff like this,s o he should've just been taken off TV, instead of hyping it up as a retirement fromw restling as a whole.

Hmmm, I see what your saying, i think.

To my understanding, the plan all along after Ric Flair's retirement (last match) he would be off wwe tv, and wrestling tv in general. Ric Flair wanted to do some NWA shows, generate a little more excitement in local wrestling, and say goodbye to the fans (all non tv stuff) . WWE was ok with this to start since he was a contracted wwe wrestler. Ric maybe did 1-2 Indy spots before the WWE began denying Ric Flair certain shows/appearances. He was rumored to ROH maybe 6 months ago, and the WWE said no way. So Ric Flair and WWE since his retirement have parted ways. So now even though Ric Flair is on WWE Raw, he is more of a independent contractor. Pay per appearance stuff.

So your thinking Ric Flair is "whoring" himself out. Where as, I think he's just helping out some Indys. It is kind of odd to see Flair in WWE one week, and ROH the next, but that's the way it is. Most wrestling fans have never even heard of ROH, so it's not that big of a deal imo. I think as long as he doesn't wrestle a singles match, im ok with. As you said with respect for some of the wwe guys. However i guest appearnces, he can do as many as he wants. I wouldn't be totally shocked if he does do a tag match farther down the road, but I think he's done in singles matches.

That's almost it. Except, I would have no problem with him in ROH, ro any other indies, under normal circumstances. I think it's good when a big name helps out a company like ROH, and helps the oyunger guys there. That's pretty cool. And it's part of the business. And even after they retire, they cometimes do it, which is fine. No problem tjhere. The only reason I have a problem with it, is, Ric's retirement wasn't a normal retirement. He had the whole shwo revolve around him for 6 months, and people jobbed, and everything, and he was even billed as the main match at WM, and we're supposed to be all emotionally attatched to it, as if we can never see him again, when, in reality, we can look at ROH, and BAM! There he is.
So my problem isn't that he's doing stuff for ROH. It's that his goodbye was such a big deal, and they played it up so big, and in reality, he hasn't even really retired.

Got ya. To be fair to flair, Ric Flair didn't want to be the main event of 24, or on the DVD cover. You have a valid point though.

I hope to God that ROH doesn't bring in Steamboat Jr. I saw some of his recent matches in NOAH, and although he's got the basics down, he's a long ways from being good as a wrestler.
