If he is so great where is his HOF induction already :shifty: lol. But still he will always be the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be. But he shouldn't talk about it until the day he dies.

I lol'd like, 8 times at this post. Seriously.

And as for Bret Hart, I never really liked him but I respect how he changed what people viewed pro wrestling as.

I agree with the opinion that Bret Hart is far too hung up on himself. "I changed the wrestling business" "I turned wrestling around from the muscleheads" "I was never given the torch" blah blah blah whine whine bitch moan me me me I I I and of course all about myself.

What about Shawn Michaels? What about Vince McMahon actually pushing these stars? What about the amazing work ethic of incredible big men of the day like Undertaker and Bam Bam Bigelow? What about Razor Ramons classic with both Hart and Michaels? What about Ric Flair and his charisma? What about the fact that guys like Hogan, as cartoony as they were, paved the way for WWE to be around in the horrible business days of the mid 90's by making the 80's and early 90's massive profits? What about all the little guys who busted their asses off right along with Bret?

No, ya see he single handedly did it all. He kept the fans interested, he handled all the merchandising and the booking to ensure that guys like himself got a big break. He was the only star in the 90's worth mentioning.

He's also a crock of shit.

Bret Hart does realize this is a work, right? And even if Vince selected him to be the top guy what would have happened if the people he wrestled would have sandbagged him or made him look bad. Or hell even refused to job to him. Just like Hogan was lucky to have people around him to make him look good Bret is in the same boat.

All of those people bar Bam Bam get a huge amount of credit.

I'm not saying I agree that no one else helped, but in terms of carrying the torch as a technician rather than a squash-machine Bret was the first in the WWE. Also, Shawn Michaels hit the main event well after Bret had already established that you don't need to be a muscle-head to carry the belt (Bob Backlund aside).

Bearing in mind that the horrible business days of the mid 90s were as much Hogan's fault as the glory days of the 80s, I'd say he doesn't deserve any credit whatsoever.

Like before he turned heel with the Hart Foundation? When he couldn't get over because of all the old worker's who refused to put over the new kid, despite said kid having a million times their talent?

Bret didn't need people to make him look good, he needed people who weren't arseholes, and who were actually willing to work with him, hence why his feud with The British Bulldogs was so good. The Bulldog's weren't squashed in that series of conflicts, they just worked with Bret and Jim rather than against them and the end result was clear for all to see.

Bret, unlike Hogan, never once buried a worker in his time with the WWE. In fact everyone he wrestled only ever became bigger because of it. That's because Bret a) had the profile and b) had the skill to make even average worker's look good enough to hang with him.
