In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Hulk Hogan reveals that he, not Mickey Rourke or Nicholas Cage, was originally asked to play the lead character in The Wrestler. Hogan says he was sent the script and considered for the part of Randy "The Ram" Robinson.

When talking about blading, Hogan said there are wrestlers who blade 25 to 30 times per week. He also said he has friends who do staple gun matches similar to the one in The Wrestler 300 nights per year.

Could be true, could not, but honestly, I'm glad he didn't end up with the role.

Hogan is full of shit. We've all seen his acting. Lol is the only word to describe it.

And I'd like an example of someone who blades '25 to 30 time per week'.

Some more of Hogan's best bullshit (credit goes to NoDQ.com)

A wrestling fan complied this list of things that Hulk Hogan might say that are either false or the truth gets stretched:

Trainer Hiro Matsuda broke Hogan's leg, tore up his knee, and knocked out his teeth but Hogan kept coming back, brother.

Didn't know wrestling was fake until right before his first match; thought he'd trained for a year for real fights.

Got his 24-inch pythons from hauling cargo off the docks.

1st match in Japan was to be a draw with Choshu. Blassie told him to shoot and win in three minutes and he did.

Nobody cared about the Sammartino/Zbyszko match at Shea Stadium; they were all there to see Hulk vs Andre.

Caused a riot in NY by beating Gorilla Monsoon. Angry fans overturned the taxi he was driving in

Created the concepts of wrestling merchandise and entrance music and gave both to Vince.

Was almost run over by Mr. T's limo when T tried to no-show Wrestlemania I.

Tore every muscle in his back when he body slammed the 700-pound Andre the Giant.

Andre the Giant died three days/weeks after Hogan beat him.

Sweated so much in the 80s Vince had to buy replacement WWF Title belt 10 times every month.

Had to re-write his movie scripts himself because they weren't any good. Never got the screen credit due to Writers Guild rules.

Doctors wanted to have his neck fused after Undertaker injured him with the tombstone piledriver at Survivor Series 1991, but he refused.

Wrestled at Wembley Stadium in 1992.

Was his idea to make stars out of Paul Wight/The Giant and Goldberg.

Was going to make millions on the Hulk Hogan Grill, but he was out the day they came to see him so George Foreman got it instead.

Worked for 15 years with a blown-out knee.

Claims he was the one to call Bret to tell him of Owen's death.

Told Vince to buy WCW.

Came up with the idea of buying tape archives from old promotions and putting them on a channel.

Partied with John Belushi after Wrestlemania 2 in 1986 and had to have Belushi thrown out as he could not hang with hulkster in terms of drinking.. ( Note : Belushi died in 1982)

I lol'd @ Belushi.

steroids.

Created the concepts of wrestling merchandise and entrance music and gave both to Vince.

That's probably the only true one.

I give him credit for that but the rest are just bullshit.

I would have shot myself with my M249 if Nicolas "I'm the WORST action star since Matthew McConaughey" Cage had won that role. Seriously.
