So as of late, well I'm going to put it right back to a year or so ago, we've seen the WWE pull a lot of BIG twists and turns on the IWC and the 'WWE Universe' to the point that NOBODY sees this happening.

Obviously the most recent was at No Way Out - Edge being eliminated early in the first chamber match > squirming his way into the RAW EC match to eliminate John Cena first up > winning the RAW EC match and becoming the NEW WHC in the same night as LOSING the WWE Title.

There have been other ones, like
-Cena returning at the rumble 2008, as #30. He then cashes in his title shot at NWO and loses, and then in a triple threat Orton retains at WM24 against both Cena and HHH!
-Jericho losing a No Holds Barred match against HBK early in the night, then replacing the injured WHC CM Punk and winning the title in the Main Event!

I'm sure there are others that I can't think of, but my question is - do you like these types of twists and turns? I don't mean to whinge, but to simply point out an observation. After Edge squirmed his way into the RAW EC Match and won the title, there were countless people (not just on here) that complained about the credibility of the storyline and how things worked.

Do you prefer these, or do you prefer things that stay around the 'believable' storylines, where a winner/loser may be a little unpredictable?

Also, if there are any I missed, list some of the other instances that really shocked you...

Well, I think everyone who complained about the storyline not being believeable was put in their place pretty damn well last night.
WWE explained it perfectly.
Vince wasn't there, and Shane and Steph were at the hospital. Therefore, Vickie was the highest in charge to make decisions, so therefore, she can let her "lover" Edge in the match.
Makes perfect sense for me.

And yes, I do enjoy these. It really gets the excitement going. I hadn't looked forward to an episode of Raw as much as I did last night in quite a while.

As long as it makes sense to a large degree then I'm all for it...

Would be nice to see the world titles find a waist and stay there for a while now though... Maybe drill a bit of energy and unpredictability into the midcard if creative are still feeling a bit 'devious'.

Funny thing is the on-screen absence of a Raw GM didn't stir up anywhere near as much chaos as we've had since Summerslam! ...Big argument for anarchy being the way forward right there! LOL

The best example would be Randy Orton receiving the vacant WWE Championship at No Mercy 2007 and then wrestling in multiple Championship matches at the same event, loosing the title and eventually winning it at the end of the night, it was shocking.

Sudden events like these make wrestling unpredictable and exciting and that's why I love such 'unexpected' twists and turns.

I love all of these twists and turns - makes wrestling way more enjoyable when you try to figure it out and STILL don't get it.

oh yeah - you forgot when CM Punk cashed in the MITB and won the belt on Raw - that was EPIC!

And Orton Punting Vince - no one saw that coming.

I was left wanting to see more after NWO, and now I'm left wanting to see EVEN more after Raw last night.

What gets me though is, how will they play half of this shit into the SmackDown storyline? Both belts are being disputed on Raw (unless Cena starts showing up on SmackDown to fight Edge). I think Cena vs. Edge backstage in a couple promos could give Cena some credibility with the fans again, and really push Edge back up to a higher echelon after all this low shit with Vickie.

But it also gives us a chance to build up for Undertaker on Smackdown (some of these promos will be incredible). Matt vs. Jeff can become a main focus to draw more attention. The US Championship should also garner a bit more attention.

I love where the WWE is going at the moment with some unpredictability. Truth be told, now that I think of it, they can even mix it up on ECW and run one of those Championship Scrambles (granted if RVD picks up a pen and inks a contract to make the match worthy of watching).

This shit is getting incredible.

Pretty sure twists like these are the reason I watch. Seriously why would I watch every week to see wrestlers do the same moves every week to different people (Sometimes).

It's just sad that they keep the epic buildups for Wrestlemania and not try hard all year.

also matt screwing over jeff when everyone was expecting christian was a pretty big twist.

i like the twists as long as they are explained and they make sense. as long as they have them logically continue like the legacy vs mcmahon storyline is doing with hhh then i have no problem with big twists because they usually help mix things up.

I'm loving the twists, turns, swerves. It's awesome. NWO was wicked and no1 saw what happened with Edge coming. And last nights raw was off the hook. That's the first ppv and Live show after it thats made you think fuck i wish that went on longer. And leaving you wishing it was next week like NOW lol. But yeah these big twists that are happening now are wicked.

The thing about these twist and turns they've been doing, is that a majority of the time, they mostly get praised. But when TNA does it, they get shit on....every time. There's no "I love it. It's great. Just wait for the storyline to progress", they get shit on for it.

Yeah, I love them in a sense. And I guess if it was any other man besides Edge it would have been much more ridiculous.

I think the twists are great. It's the entertainment part of WWE. It's what keeps me watching every week, especialy last night.

Slow builds can be great, but leaves the element of constant predictability. 2008 and early 2009 was made by crazy twists in the storylines.
The twists have been working out great for them. They haven't done anything too ridiculous or over the top.
The Edge twist was incredible. I really believe he's the only person something like that would have worked for though. They can't get the title away from this guy if they tried. And honestly, it's been working out great, every time he picks up a major title the crowd pops like crazy.
