Its funny, i was thinking earlier today and days past at work, with ROH getting a TV deal, they are going to need some familar faces. Or do they? Or should they stick with their core guys, with wrestling being the #1 emphasis. Certainly you want a good mix of both, and I think D-Lo is a very good addition, in the short term. Who else might be a good fit in the "new" ROH?

Also do you think ROH will expand its roster, BUT only have wrestlers on 50% of the shows? This way, ROH could have a longer list of familar names, and saving some money by paying wrestlers per appearance.

Who's next to ROH? Should ROH focus on their own guys?

Thoughts

No, please. I don't follow ROH now, but i know a few guys from when I would go to HWA shows (Nigel, Irish Airborne). Regardless though, they need to make a name for themselves and not bring in "big names" to try to get attention. As we learned from TNA, a big name doesn't mean a good show. If they have good shows, they'll do fine in the long run. Since they have a long term contract, they'll have plenty of time.

I think ROH needs the following:

PAC
RVD
Super Dragon
Cade and Murdock

That's about it tbh.. Their roster is pretty good, a few fresh faces might help.

ROh has already shown that they can draw tons of people to an event without any "big" name. I don't think they need to bring in anybody that will just be there to sell tickets. They can bring in someone like Samoa Joe, LAX, MCMG, and that's fine, because they wrestle, and help add interest to the product. But those guys should be used for like a weekend or special appearances only.

If they're going to bring a familiar face in, it should be someone most wrestling fans know. D'lo Brown is OK, but if they bring in guys that were primarily jobbers, it won't help. It wouldn't hurt them if they brought a retired guy for a non-wrestling role too, just like they did with Steamboat, Foley and Cornette a couple of years ago.

No, please! I used to love this guy, but the injuries have piled up, and he's gained a lot of weight these past couple of years. SD's best years are already behind him.

As SP mentioned, It kinda like a tryout with D-Lo. I completely understand about the making a name for itself, BUT you gotta realize a lot of wrestling fans have never heard of ANYONE on the ROH roster. ROH has been using Jerry Lynn to help promote its shows. Yes TNA did go overboard with wwe talent, but they did for a reason, and they were booked poorly. With the right booking, almost anyone can come out looking good. ROH has done a pretty good job promoting some of its younger/new stars already since Pearce took over. I think adding a few (2-3) Established names could only help. If just for buzz, if nothing else.

You have to figure TNA won't allow their wrestlers on ROH Tv as well, so thats not an option.

If ROH could bring Cade and Murdoch and run them with Sweeney, they could give them a much bigger boost than someone like D'Lo. They've already got Lynn, they don't need someone else past it. And besides, D'Lo would be much better off asking to work in TNA/UWF.

Quackenbush is too busy with CHI, and his appearances with the NWA. Pearce should be looking at getting someone like Blue Demon, Jr. or another big name from NWA and throwing them into the ROH midcard mix.
