Last year, we were all (mostly) pretty excited because Brian Kendrick was beginning to show some potential, and it looked like he could be a solid upper midcarded.
However, since then, he's beenanything but menmorable. I think they are actually passing up on something that could actually be pretty good.
No, I'm not suggesting he is a main eventer (at all). But I really don't see why he can't be a solid uppermidcard (say with a us title run) who occasionally is used on the weekly shows main events, like say, in a match agaisnt Hardy or HHH.
How do you think he will fare in 2009? Do you think he will even get close to a main event again, and better yet, do you believe he should ever get near the main event again?

He was doing just that, the thing is that we are already in the RTW, and it's obvious TBK has nothing planned for him, so tbh, as from now to Mania, I prefer him challenging for the tag belts than jobbing to HHH and Hardy, that is what he would be doing if put in a match against them at this stage, just months from Mania.

Yup i agree he ain't gonna be doing shit till after Mania now so may as well stay in tag role for time being. Even after WM he may not go anywhere. Because we will have Umaga, Kennedy, Back plus MVP's push should be starting sometime soon.(i hope). So maybe TBK is gonna float around doing jack shit.

Meh, since MVP is going to turn face, I could see TBK vs MVP.

In all honesty, the painful reality is starting to settle in. Ezekiel Jackson was the one destined for the push, and he's the one getting pushed now.

I can see him randomly thrown in an 8 man MITB but not the 6 man version tbh. Aside from that, nothing.

Maybe a throwaway tag match on the WM pre-show in a job against the Colons.

I think he was going to be getting a great push until he got busted for be a major drugger (was there not a story about that in the news room?), he had alot going for him and was winning all his matches, some of which with out EJ. Than you heard about the drug reports and all of a sudden he got buried/ looked so much weaker. I'm sure if he values his job he can pull a Jeff Hardy and be redeemed if he stays clean for a while

I reckon he's good, But his plans are failure...

World title scramble?? fail
Tag titles on smackdown? fail

But WWE should keep a hold of him, he is solid on mic and in ring...

I don't think he'll main event at all in 09. The only reason I think he was even in the the Scramble was just to be a filler. But in 09, he'll be a tag team star with big Zeke. At least until they turn on each other. But main event I doubt that. He maybe in the MitB match though. But Kendrick and Zeke (I think) will dominate smackdowns tag team division in 09.

Wouldn't throwing him in and tag team and giving him the titles be a push backwards anyways.

How would that be a push backwards when the last time that Kendrick held a title was in September of 07 at a house show, and they lost the title just 3 days later?

For the fact they were trying to turn him into a singles wrestler and he goes on to never hold a singles title before finally going back to the tag. I guess not a step forward but it makes it look as though he's made no step forward.

I don't think they were trying to turn him into a singles star. When he 1st debuted on Smackdown, wasn't Zeke there with him too, and he was dubbed his body guard. They didn't get a guy like that only for him to sit on the sidelines. Sooner or later, they were going to start to team up with each other. I could be wrong though, just my opinion. I also think that it's a bigger step from before, may not be a big leap, but a bigger step, because before Zeke actually got in the ring to wrestle, it should Kendrick could actually wrestle with out a partner. Didn't he only wrestle tag with London and hardly ever any singles, and the singles he did wrestle lose? At least now, he's taken on Hardy and looked credible, and been in a World title match.

The tag division is the place he fits the best in right now, because as CMS said, the RTW has started and they have no plans for him. After Zekendrick dominate the tag division and break up, Kendrick should go into the mid card and win the US title or at least challenge for it, while Ezekiel goes to upper mid card or the main event.

Ever since he landed on Smackdown I have been a huge fan of Kendrick. This guy just fuckin oozes annoying little asshole heel. As far as Big EJ stealing his push I don't think he's in any danger of that happening. He's yet another generic big guy. Personally I don't think pairing Kendrick with a body guard was quite the right move. I think he would have been more suited with a valet. I definately don't see him in the main event any time soon, but hopefully he'll eventually get the singles push he deserves and land himself the U.S. Title sometime this year.
And obviously smokin the herb isn't going to catch Kendrick any suspensions under the wellness policy is certainly isn't helping his standing in the company at all.
