This thread is about our dear friend Mike Adamle, who recently lost his job (kayfabe, of course).
But in all seriousness, let's talk about his time in wwe.
He was used as an interviewer, a hype man, a commentator, and a gm. All of which, he was hated in.
However, I can't help but think wwe gave up on him too early. They really should've used his hatred to their advantage. They actually started to do that during his tenure as GM, and IMO, I loved it. I used to be pretty damn entertained watching him.
So the thing is, do you think he could/should be brought back in any way, to give him another shot?
I think it would be worth it, he was a good heel IMO.
And I think he would make a kickass manager.

What are your thoughts on the Adamle, and did wwe waste an oppurtunity by firing him?

I saw no problem with Adamle as GM. She he messed up on his words alot and would have to read off a paper sometimes. Play that into his character or something, I dunno, but they indeed let him go too early. I mean look at Vickie, they used everyone's hatred of her and turned her into the most heat given on air employee of the WWE. I can't stand Vickie and I know that's what supose to happen but when she comes on, it's at the point where I turn the tv, and that ain't good. A majority of people hated Adamle, that's good, make him heel GM. The GM doesn't even pay a huge talking role, just come out in the opening segment maybe, then a backstage segment or two, that's it. Sure he failed as commentator, but that was a shit load of talking, something he wasn't good at. Play towards his strengths and one would be his ability to gain heat. They could have taken him off tv for a while, but brought him back sometime this year after mania or something. But I agree the E let him go too soon.

His GM run was ok... Agreed, he could have grown into the role and WWE could have tweaked his character a bit to make a bit more of a go of it, but regardless I don't think we're missing anything amazing on that front.

Where WWE did fuck up was assuming that he had anywhere near enough insight and product knowledge to walk into a play-by-play announcer role, but IMO they took this risk in an attempt to bring a rub of credability to the WWE by having a PROPER SPORTS announcer take up said role.

I wonder how much their little 'experiment' cost them...?

I think Adamle was elevated into his GM role a bit suddenly. I honestly didn't see anything wrong with him as a GM though. Honestly, I kinda liked him a little better than Stephanie. I think having Steph riding his ass for a few months over how bad he was trying to seize power from him would have been more entertaining. I think people simply boo'ed Adamle for the novelty of it all and it was just automatic to hate the guy..lol.
And to be brutally honest....J.R. FUCKS UP HIS LINES MORE THAN ADAMLE DID!
Want a fun drinking game. Sit down to an episode of Smackdown with a bottle of your favorite liquor and take a shot every time J.R. botches a name or a move, you won't make it past the third commercial break.

I honestly thought Adamle's akwardness and retardation was just a work and that when it was time to step down and hand the reigns back to McMahon, he would suddenly "snap out of it" and become a well versed business man, able to speak articulately and then do battle with the
McMahons on their level. For a while I thought we were going to witness a slow transformation of Mike Adamle from naieve awkward guy, to a cold sinister two faced GM who grew to love holding power and was not about to let it go.

The direction WWE eventually went with and the circumstances of Adamles departures left so many unanswered questions( i.e. Who was this guy? Why did anyone think he would be a good GM?) that part of me still wonders weather or not WWE will bring this guy back in some way. I refuse to believe WWE made a mistake in hiring this guy without having the confidence in thinking he could do the job. With all of that said I liked
the guy and I still think if he had the ability to transform himself to a more heelish GM he would have done alright

^^^If previous reports are to beleived they were training him up for a little physical action too, so it would would suggest there were plans for him to become a more active GM.

I must admit, I thought he had a certain look about him which would have made him a great maniacle, power-trippin' kind of figure (subject to the 'acting' skills obviously)....

I agree with Charismatic Raven. I for one was glad to see him go.

He failed at pretty much all of it, and you think they could have possibly given up too early? Regardless it's their fault anyway for investing in someone with absolutely no skills for the wrestling business.

They didn't really waste an opportunity but yes, underestimated his talent to some extent and could have used him in a better way for sometime longer. Nonetheless Mike Adamle was pretty much alright as General Manager, nothing too special or thrilling.

Yes he pulled off his gimmick nicely and portrayed his character beautifully but when it came to the mic, he was absolutely horrible and in his last few weeks with the company, his character got boring and stale as well.

Just another 'experiment' as someone said above.
