WWE.com has a story up noting that Batista will be undergoing surgery tomorrow in Birmingham, Alabama to repair a partially torn hamstring. James Andrews' colleague Jeffery Dugas will be performing the operation, and there has been no timeline set at this time for The Animal's ring return.

Here's to hoping Batista gets his rematch.

It would be stupid of them to do the same exact thing that happened exactly a year ago. I'm shooting for Orton to win the Rumble this year. And Batista's return wouldn't be as big as Cena's was at the Rumble. It'll just be "Oh look Batista's here, Hi Dave."

While I do agree that it wouldn't be as big, I don't do so by the same reasons. You are implying that nobody would care for Batista returning, and really, I am willing to bet he would get a very similar pop to the one Cena got.

Let's not forget that even though you hate the guy, he's the second most over babyface in Raw.

Not implying that anyone would care because I know some would, as you said he is the the second most over babyface on Raw, I'm aware of that. I'm simply implying that when Cena had his surprise return, a majority of people (from what I saw/heard) marked out, got excited, whatever the word maybe when Cena returned. Not only Cena fans, but some of his haters as well, the "Cena Sux" guys. It was a surprise to everyone. (If I'm wrong about that I'd gladly admit it) With Batista, it's expected to happen, there are those who's already saying that he wont be out as long as WWE says. Another would be that if he would returned at the Rumble, he wouldn't have been as missed/out as long as Cena. He'd only be gone for like 3 weeks maybe, not sure when the rumble is. I think a return gets it's reaction based on how long the wrestler is out for and on the time frame they were to be out for.

I think Batista was asking for a time off if I wasnt mistaken few months ago. So its his opportunity to take his break now and let the bookers change few things in his storylines and maybe he will return more aggressive leading to a heel turn.
