TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING ANNOUNCES NEW ONE-HOUR "TNA EPIX" PROGRAM TO BEGIN BROADCASTING IN 2009

Ongoing series to join "iMPACT!" and "Xplosion" as TNA's leading broadcasts

TNA Wrestling is announcing the creation of a new one-hour television series, set to debut in early 2009.

"TNA Epix" will feature the most awe-inspiring and monumental moments, matches and superstars that shaped the face of TNA from its 2002 inception until today!

From the first TNA event in 2002 and the early Wednesday night Pay-Per-Views, to the Fox Sports Net era and the evolution of TNA on SpikeTV as well as the most recent wars inside the six-sided ring, the new program will include rare matches, archived footage, fresh historical commentary from the TNA superstars and so much more

"We are extremely excited about ‘Epix' joining the TNA broadcasting universe," said Kevin Sullivan, Director of TNA Television. "While ‘iMPACT!' is undoubtedly the crown-jewel of our worldwide presence, ‘Epix' will chronicle the amazing history of TNA and allow our fans to re-live some of their favorite moments."

"Epix" will be produced by Bill Banks at TNA's new state-of-the-art television headquarters in Nashville.

Check back to TNAwrestling.com in the coming weeks for more exclusive news on "TNA Epix".

TNA Television currently produces over 350 hours of programming annually, including "iMPACT!", Xplosion, International broadcasts, DVDs, SpikeTV specials, online videos and much more. In addition to "Epix", TNA is already exploring additional broadcasting opportunities in 2009.

This is pretty awesome. I for one wanna see this and can't wait for it.

So basically it will be like a best of TNA DVD given away on free tv. I can see this pissing off a lot of fans - "Wow this is what TNA used to produce what the fuck happened?"

This could be good for people that haven't experienced the old TNA. Hopefully they air it in Australia. Also, do TNA still have XPlosion

I can't wait to see this show. I seen some TNA in 05 but never new what it was or when it came on. Just channel surfing and came upon it random times. Didn't become a fan til 06 and been watching it every since. I want to see the early TNA and the old X-division that everyone is saying that's better than the current 1. Hopefully this show wont bomb.

The funny thing is, this show will probably be better than Impact.

:laugh2: @ 'Epix'

I don't watch UFC XBA, but I still await the day TNA come up with something original.

Yes, because Ultimate X, the six sided ring, King of the Mountain, Feast or Fired, Lethal Lockdown, Elevation X, and the entire X-Division aren't original :nonono:

Anyway, I'll actually contribute to the discussion instead of mindlessly bashing TNA. This is a good way to help bring in new fans, whether or not it will work still remains to be seen. Its a smart business move though

Ultimate X, original indeed, I'll give you that.

Six sided ring is pointless anyway.

KOTM is a ladder match with a stupid gimmick. Semi-original, but still stupid.

Feast or Fired, complete MITB rip-off and there's no denying that.

Lethal Lockdown, every heard of War Games?

Elevation X = Scaffold match from the original

Even though I was speaking more storylines in term of originality.

I hope so, as long as they put on real quality matches.

Oh and speaking of unoriginality...don't you just love this VINTAGE COLLECTION of TNA? :shifty:

6 sided ring isn't original, they've been using them in Mexico for years before TNA did. Where do you think TNA got the idea?

But the truth is there is no originality in wrestling anymore. I mean not when you get down the bare bones. I wouldn't call Elevation X original (or even good so why they brought it back who knows) because the only thing different is that its a different shaped scafold. KOTM I would call original though...but again a little silly but certainly not the worst idea.

Lethal Lockdown is definatly a clear and simple rip off of War Games though I give TNA credit with getting more creative with the matches by not limiting the guys to inside the cage, like War Games did back in WCW.

Feast or Fired is just another variation of a gimick on a pole match combined with the aspect of the prize of a Money in the Bank....but really Money in the Bank isn't really original either...Its just another Ladder Match and Ladder Matches for title shots have been done many times before.

Hell in a Cell is a varation of a Cage Match.

I would say the only original matches in wrestling are Ultimate X & Elimination Chamber, but even 1 could argue that they are also new takes of Ladder & Cage matches or even War Games.

The original comment was meant to be for storylines though. It's hard to be original with anything after it's been around for a while.

TNA are original. They have reverse battle royales, beer on a pole matchs, black tie chain and brawl matches and so on...

Alright, well I'll tell you what I think of this right now.

This is going to get stale quick, and it will be a loss of money in both production of the show, and less buy rates for old pay per views. Why the hell would you televise your matches, also, this is like UFC Unleashed XBA, but isn't that, and this just like uh wait let me think? WWE 24/7? I mean come on, if you wan't to give WWE a run for their money, and not a chuckle, you make fans pay for it. Purchase sattelite, and buy the program. Its running swell from what I've heard with the WWE. But yes, this may give their fan base a sugar rush of some sorts, but will quickly die down. How many 'entertaining' matches in TNA are their. I can probably only name around 20-35. Thats about half a year I do believe.

Bad move TNA.
