Organization of Wrestling Extremists:
2002 had just ended and WCW was done, while the WWE was on a high. The talent from the WCW had no where to go but had no chance but too sign with the WWE or just roam around the independent circuit. Many where rejected by the WWE and were forced to look around the independent circuit, this is when a new company emerged. The Organization of Wrestling Extremists was run by Jamie Lee. As well as being sponsored heavily, it was also invested in by 3 of the countries richest men giving them what they needed to hire the talent needed. These 3 men had a passion for the wrestling business and were not happy when they heard about WCW folding. They decided to invest in the small company hoping it would one day trump the WWE. One of the 3 men owned a clothing line and helped produce the merchandise that was needed. They had an excellent graphic designer for ads and posters and they where set up and ready. This meant that a lot of the stuff was already taken care of. The only thing that was actually needed was the talent to go along with the company. Lee had something to show for high flyers and quite a few of the cruiserweights WCW had produced had been signed. The road agents and scouting staff had also found a few independent stars to sign with the company on contracts that allowed them to participate elsewhere.
2003 passed through quickly with money being made through various house shows and various big performances throughout the year. Some talent left the company while some was signed as well as more staff signed to the company to improve the overall product. The Company slogan was Determined to be Different as the company focused quite a bit on wrestling but also believed in the storyline having impact on the product. With extreme matches taking place a lot, the company was called a mix between the WWE, ECW and ROH but without the talent willing, it would not go far. The talent the company had signed was getting payed a lot for what it was doing and a few superstars had to be released to make ends meet. The investors in the company slowly let a little money at time out of the company but still keeping the company afloat was the sponsors. Jamie had to find something but how.
2004 was a big year and it happened to be the year that OWE came into some big money through a final investor who remained anonymous. Other happenings saw a feud with the NOAH and Dragon Gate promotions which included two Japanese stars signing with the company. This instigated the implement of the Tag Team titles into the company with various tag teams signing with them. The year was a big success for OWE surpassing the TNA company and coming close to being the WWE's top competitor.
2005 proved to be the least successful year for the OWE promotion but still had it's highs, it managed to gain a 1 hour TV deal. It was also a bad year because I few of the OWE's home built stars left the company after gaining deals with the WWE. The OWE found themselves having to push younger stars into the main event to gain the talent they needed. This proved to be a bad decision as the TV ratings dipped right down into the 0.2 ratings and the network was not happy, giving OWE a year to overall improve.
2006 proved to be another successful year with the debut of the first ever OWE PPV event, it was said to be the biggest OWE event in history. This proved too be true as the event was off the hook and a lot of Internet wrestling fans where left raving about the event. This gained the OWE their TV deal to be reinstated for at least 3 more years. This proved that the OWE was on the up and it was only a matter of time before they caught up to the WWE. Talent was signed again as well as a few big names to fill in the gaps in the Main Event.
2007 was a big year for the as they where granted a big TV deal to be pushed up to the two hour mark and finally got 12 PPV's onto TV, they where beginning to rise the likes of WWE but where still far off, the ratings rose to 1.3 and the crowds attending where getting larger. This was also the year where OWE celebrated it's 5 year anniversary with a big 3 hour show showcasing the beginning and a big Steel Cage Main Event. The biggest PPV for the OWE proved to be another big success and now. OWE where ready to progress to the top with a talent overload and some of the biggest happenings in wrestling.
