So far, it looks like R-Truth's push is going really well. He's way over with the fans, and has put on some pretty entertaining matches. Recently, he's been having a couple of matches with Shelton Benjamin. It looks like these two are going to feud, because on the last SD, Killings got the win against Shelton. I'm liking what will happen with this, because it'll help both guys if they do it correctly.

If R-Truth takes the title...
It obviously would be a big step up for him, and I don't think there will be any complaining. There's still a couple of heels on SD he could continue to feud with the belt, and he could get over more with those feuds with guys like The Brian Kendrick, MVP, and Big show. It won't hurt Shelton that much either, he could transition over to a main event role once his reign ends.

If Shelton retains...
Shelton still has some life as a champ outside of Killings, and if he wins the first title match, they'll continue to feud. Shelton as champ longer won't be a problem, but now he'll have to have some good feuds to stay entertaining. As for R-Truth, he might just lose with a cheap tactic to keep him protected. He won't have to be weighed down with a midcard title if he starts to get bigger pops.

Shelton should retain the first match then R-Truth chases Shelton around with Shelton just barely ducking him. Almost like MVP vs. Matt Hardy. If done correctely could be big for both of them.

Mmmmm I like killings, I think he is wicked. But as for him being US champ. Nah not yet let him chase Shelton for i bit yet. They could both benefit from a longer feud. Truth has just come into WWE so let him have a cpl of matches with Benjamin before he takes the title off him. Don't rush things too quickly.

I like both men and both men in a few years have a main event status in their futures. But I think that R - Truth should be US Champ but not right now he came back what a month and a half ago? (might be wrong) and Shelton only got it not too long ago let them have a couple of matches and then later in the year in a few ppv time he can have it.

Truth is gonna lose to Shelton in the payoff match. Enjoy him looking good on television in these segments and fluke wins. It stops when the title is on the line. Let him have the belt at the end of the year. By that time, Benjamin will look good going into the Rumble and I have a feeling he's going over in the MITB match at Mania 25.

If R-Truth was to win the US Championship then it will show 2 things
1. Vince has faith in him to carry the title.
2. Vince actuly believes in a fromer TNA main eventer not like Brendon Walker.
