an Orton vs Punk feud?

WWE has been teasing this for a while now, after the attack when he lost the title. It looks like the WWE is leaning more towards Punk vs Priceless, but I actually would love to see Punk vs Orton. I think it would make for a good, long feud that goes up to the Royal Rumble. There's so much that can be done for the feud, I think that they could pull off some good matches with each other.

It already has a natural rivalry with Punk as the one who "worked his way to the top" and Orton as the guy with the silver spoon in his mouth. There's lots of promo ideas for this, and they could base it off the Number one Contendership at the start, and have them move away from the title. They could start with something like a multi man match for the title on PPV, and have them knock each other out. or screw each other out of the match. I think a feud with Rhodes & DiBiase would be good at setting the stage for the feud to start, and the WWE is doing that now I think.

I'm sticking with the theory that Orton is going to take over Priceless and turn it into Evolution 2, while Punk gets a team of younger guys to feud with them. They can still feud, but they'll have armies behind them.

I am also getting the impression of Punk and X vs Team Priceless, but that's just because of two reasons:

1) Raw gives segments to people who don't need it (see the stupid Cade promo or Marella having 3 segments), instead of giving promo time to Punk to continue hyping his rivalry with Orton, seeing how Punk cannot touch Orton anymore until he returns or he'll get suspended.

2) Michael Cole can't sell a story. He was good on SD doing it, but now, he can't put an angle over by commenting. If he just put over the fact that even though CM Punk hates Orton's guts and wants to beat him badly, he can't or he'll get suspended, so on the meantime, he'll bring it to Rhodes/DiBiase and Manu.

I agree with Roxxi on this, i think it's going to turn into a big faction feud, with Evolution 2 (Orton/Team Priceless/Manu/Tista if he goes heel, which i think he should), and Punk with a team of younger guys (Punk/Kofi/...and more young guys). I just have to say, though, i can't wait for a Orton vs Punk match.

Punk/Kofi vs Priceless is clearly about to go down, in the leadup to the Orton return. Orton will help Priceless retain when they meet in a tag title match, and the Orton/Punk feud will continue from there, while allowing Orton to lead Priceless.

a fired writer said the plan for WM25 was Punk/Orton, I don't know if the will wait until mania, but the build up is already fresh and great and really elevates Punk

I would love for cm punk to win the belt at rumble Orton win the rumble to go on to WM25 to face Orton for the belt and Orton Kill the legend of c.m. punk just my thought but doubt it will ever happen

Not sure what to make of it... Looking forward to Raw tonight to see what developes...

Seeing as Orton didn't literally or physically play a part in Punk losing his title, I'm wondering if we may see Orton dupe Punk into allowing him to allign himself with him against priceless, only for him to screw him even worse in his quest to regain the gold....

hahaha. That would be pretty sweet.

But if Punk or anyone else fell for that, they would lose all credibility immediately. It would be golden for Orton to do that though. I just don't think they would want to make a top face look that friggin stupid just to put a top heel over.

As someone reported, the WWE has decided to make some of their bigger feuds long term. I'm assuming the next big feud is Orton vs Punk.

I think the way that it has started off is brilliant. First Orton costs Punk the title, then the "Orton is off limits stipulation" seperates the two of them for a while. This is going to make Punks payback even better. Not to mention that fact that they have thrown fresh faces in the middle of it. I also like how they keep us guessing whether or not the Third generation stable is going to form. Its really only a matter of time until Orton, Rhodes, Dibiase, and Manu are celebrating over a decimated CM Punk.

I hope they delay Punk vs Orton until Mania. Its a well built fued with a good backstory. Plus, I think Punk and Orton can put on a great match. Although, I think they will do it sooner and have Batista vs Orton at Mania.

This is gonna end up as Orton/DiBiase/Rhodes/Manu vs. Punk/Kingston/Cryme Tyme at Survivor Series. Orton and DiBiase vs. Punk toward the end, Punk comes back and beats DiBiase, only to get distracted by a brawl on the outside after Kingston and CT break up interference, Punk turns around into an RKO to give Team Orton the win.
