Batista has been talking about taking some time off from WWE, in part because he was frustrated with the push he was getting. He seems to believe he is not yet a top-tier performer, and believes he should be pushed like a true main eventer based off the reaction from the crowds. There is talk that Batista’s win over John Cena at SummerSlam was an attempt to placate him.

There are still rumblings that Batista isn’t happy with his push, and if having him go over Cena was intended to pacify him, it didn’t work. Although Batista has talked about retiring in a year or two, he’s not being taken very seriously and the feeling is that if he wants to maintain his current lavish lifestyle he will need the paychecks from WWE.

Either way, he could still end up taking a little time off in the near future depending on where the creative team goes with him.

Batista's mind : " I TAKE THE MOST ROIDS, THEREFORE I SHOULD BE CHAMP!!!! Little kids love me, i get the most cheers, sure it wasn't til after Goldberg and Brock left, they pushed me to the moon. Its doesnt matter, I should be champ!!!!

He never should have got that push. I'll say it once, and ill say it again, Batista was in the RIGHT place, at the RIGHT time.

I hope he retires. I can imagine his emotional retirment speech now, a promo for the ages

'I love you all, goodbye. RAWRRR'

Whilst I wouldn't argue as such with any of that, I just got through watching NYRevolution & RRumble from 2005 and Batista IS clearly hot shit with the crowds.... Maybe it was all thanks to the formative period of his push, but he was being cheered by the majority of the crowd as if he were a face.....

Then again, maybe that was all born of the promise of him kicking HHHs ass! LOL

@ -HBK-: LOL ....Don't forget a heavy session of rigorously shaking the ropes.

If he goes, I won't be shedding any tears, but if anything I see him outstaying his welcome in the ME rathar than retiring early....

I find it surprising, when some reports are filed on the 'net, you guys call bullshit, but when it comes to someone else, someone whom the majority of the 'net dislikes, you believe it. Make up your minds, damn. I don't give a shit if there's truth in this report or not, Big Dave > Internet Reporters. If he retires, sucks for me, since he's one of the only reasons I'm watching RAW, and the WWE as a whole.

I never got the impression that the majority of the net disliked Batista? I don't get the fuss about him and never have, plus he just looks bloody freaky... roidmonster. Anyhows I always got the impression Batista was well liked in and out of the IWC.

You can never really say whether anything is true or not on the net, wrestling or not so I say just wait until it's official.

^ Actually, he's one of the many wrestlers disliked by the majority of the IWC. Speaking of 'roids, I find hilarious he's not suspended. The WWE would've suspended him, unless he's under some special guidance for taking 'em; he's toned down quite a bit as well, which makes these 'roid comments even more hilarious.

Hmm but Batista looked as he did before he even showed up in WWE and I'm sorry NOBODY looks like that without roids. To be honest I've heard the systems in WWE can easily be dodged if you know how.

Actually, before the WWE, the guy was 350 or so pounds; now he's 290. In '06, he was 305 pounds, and so there's a 15 pound difference. To me, he doesn't look too roided up as he did prior to his injury; maybe that's because I've seen considerably worse.

He can't retire until he puts Orton over. After that, I could really care less.
