As opposed to continuing the WWE 24/7 On Demand service, Vince McMahon is looking to create his own live cable channel that would be offered as a free service to viewers.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has been compiling evidence as of late to present to cable companies explaining that customers would be willing to switch from satellite to cable if WWE had a channel that was offered on cable systems. This is an idea Vince has been silently working with for several years now.

So it would be WWE 24/7 except free? That would be awesome! I hope this isn't bullshit because I'd love to be able to watch wrestling whenever I felt like it for no cost at all. Sure, I could just download shows but that takes time lol.

Thoughts?

^^Don't get too far ahead of yourself, the channel hasn't even been confirmed or anything yet so it might not even be in USA, letalone the UK.

A WWE channel would be pretty cool but if you think about it with the amount of programs WWE has (Raw, SD, ECW, Bottom line, Experience, Afterburn and Vintage Collection, dunno if it's different in USA) it wouldn't be enough to fill up a program which would go on every day so Vince will have to think of some good program ideas to fill up the schedule and if not, apart from the main programs, the channel could be a failure.

Not saying it will be a failure but if it is gonna be filled with programs like WWE Shop stuff like on a shopping channel and shit like that, I'd try staying away from the channel unless one of the major programs was on.

If anything like the 24/7 thing they can not even worry bout it. I ordered it and there was only about enough good stuff to keep me entertained a day or two. After that It just kind of got lame.

Heat ended a month or two ago because ironically enough I put it on my lsit and then realised and then deleted it. If Vince was to get this channel I think he may do something like buy a couple of overseas promotions and put them on the channel and with MMa's growing fanbase Vince may also get some little MMA fight nights on every week or so with different fighters. It may be unlikely but I think it could help the channel and WWE as a whole.

Well WWE can return programs for the WWE network along with adding some new ones. Pretty much all Switchy said then they can return Heat and Velocity (Heat for Raw. Velocity for SD.) Farm territories, and mabye a hour -hour half long show on sunday showing all dark matches that was aired on Raw, SD, ECW, Heat, and Velocity. They can call it WWE Metal. Also they have A.M. Raw and mabye some classic ECW/wCw/NWA/AWA/WCCW shows after midnight.

Then Vince can bring back the XFL to take up time! :shifty: And the winning team of the season takes on the WWE roster in an all star game lmfao.

It would be stupid. Raw and SD wouldn't go on it, cause they already have ontracts on networks with way more exposure. Also, proggraming wouldn't be good enough to fill up a 24 hou rday, because I highly doubt it would be all ppv's and stuff from the past for free like wwe 24/7. It would probably be some crappy proggramming and not near as good as 24/7.
Also, you can't just create a tv channel, lol.
If he wasnts it for normal tv, and nota special channel such asnumbers like channel 400, 500, etc, and he wants it on normal tv (channel 10, 20, etc) that's not exactly easy to do, becausethose channels are already being used. IDK, details seem sketchy right now.

He is trying to sell it to a gullible cable company in an effort to "get more business for that company." Or atleast that will be his excuse. You have comcast and directTV. How about you put your WWE channel on one of those? WWE would be an entire channel? You know where you can go with that? Can you say 24 Hour Marathon of Bash at the Beach? LMAO

Since I don't have the money for WWE 24/7. I wouldn't mind seeing a channel like this. However, since RAW and SD would be pretty much out of the question. I'm sure they could make a go out of putting old WWE (RAW, SD) episodes up, as well as WCW & ECW. It could catch the interest of younger fans who never got to see it. As well as fans who would like to see it.

But I'm not getting my hopes up. If it's a success I'll be going back to cable!

You guys do realize that they could time the opening of the channel to when Raw, ECW and Smackdown! are no longer under contacts, right? Even if they opened the channel before that, as soon as the contract was up, they'd be moved.

Heres the deal...WWE has so damn many hours of footage from over the years like Nitros Raws ECWs SDs PPVs Heats Velocitys confidentials ect ect ect. WWE could definantly fill up a schedule. Why not put all this footage to use? Instead of letting it sit there and rot away why not let us relive all the memories. This channel would be on like 24/7 for me lol. This would be freakin huge for any WWE fan or wrestling fan period

Chuck is once again the only sensible one.

Vince wants to create his own channel so another CW situation won't happen, where the network won't pick up the show after the contract is over.
