This can be used to discuss the DVD, favorite parts, things you've noticed, what was left off, what shouldnt have been on, things like that. Or just talk about your favorite raw moments.
Im about finished watching 9 hours of classic raw footage, taking me back pretty much the whole time i've watched wrestling.
1st Disc thoughts:
This disc has the best/most matches in my opinion. Its starts with Flair/Perfect which in my opinion is still in the top 3 of raws greatest matches all time. Followed by HBK/Jannetty which was match of the year. On top of that, you have Taker vs Mankind, HBK vs Owen, Bulldog vs OWen and more.
There wasn't that many "huge" moments, but their were some notable ones. I hoped they had talked and seen more about the first Monday night raw, they didnt really talk about it that much. Heenan getting fired was a good ending to his career. Pillman/Austin gun scene was classic. and some good promos.
I think they should have added something on the Steiner vs Quebeckers fued. THey had two "big" matchups back then, one a championship match, the other, was a Cage match. I also dont know how they left off the Austin /Bret hart fued/street fight. That is still my favorite raw of all time. That was huge, idk how that got left off.
Disc 2:
This is basically the moments dvd from the attitude era. Lots of Austin/Rock/Vince segments. Foley, Jericho and HHH were all focused on this dvd. After watching this i see why this era was so sucessful. It was great writing and great characters to pull it off. Their was only one match on this dvd, but im sure they left off a handful of great ones, but it would have been tough to add them in. Its kinda like a mini best of each wrestler. 2008 should take notes on this dvd, because their is a lack of great moments now a days.
I think they should have added Hardy vs Taker Ladder match, Kane vs Mankind HIAC, Austin vs. Kane for the championship
Disc 3
Even though this is a good disc, i think this one is poorly selected. After watching this, you'll realize why Cena isnt on the level of Austin and Rock. He's not even on here. Him being drafted was his biggest moment. There are some great moments from raw on here, but they left a handful off this disc.
- HBK doin Hogan
- Cena vs. Kfed (some may argue, but it was one of cena's bigger moments)
- Vince's death angle
- Vinces son angle
- Save us Y2J
- Cena vs HBK
- Matt Hardy returns
-Cena vs Edge Cage
- Hardy vs Nitro ladder match
- something on Goldberg/Brock
- Rated RKO vs Dx
take your pick.
and those are recent ones, and just off the top of my head.
Things they could have left off, (too long for 3 hours)
- Musical Chairs
- Cena being drafted
- Kane/Litas wedding
- Eric Bischoff's trail
- Stone Cold stuns the family...again
- HBK Returns ( he's all over this disc already, and he was only gone like 3-4 months)
The positives on this disc are some classic matches though, HBK vs Shelton, HBK vs Angle, HBK vs Edge.
I think if they would restructure the 3rd disc it would improve greatly, still a good watch. All in all, i think its a must buy. A lot of classic stuff here, cant beat it. 9 hours for 20 bucks.
