$25 baby for sale

A COUPLE allegedly tried to sell their six-month-old baby girl for $25 outside a Wal-Mart store.

The couple were arrested on suspicion of endangering their child and booked into jail in Salinas, California, The Californian reported.

The baby's father, 28-year-old Patrick Fousek, allegedly approached two women outside the Wal-Mart and asked if they would like to buy his baby daughter for the small sum.

"They thought he was joking," Salinas police spokesman Officer Lalo Villegas tod The Californian.

"They laughed, but he was very persistent. That’s when they knew this guy was serious."

Police said Mr Fousek and his partner Samatha Tomasini, 20, were later tracked down and arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police said the baby has since been taken by Child Protective Services.

Some people just don't deserve to have children, not everyone is responsible enough and clearly these two aren't. Absolutely crazy and I hope that they are never allowed to have children again. Disgusting what some people will do but good that people immediately called the cops. $25 is so cheap as well, I thought they would try to sell it for thousands on the net although they don't seem smart enough to use a computer. Lock them up for a few months.

That is disgusting, people like thoughs too shouldn't be on this earth. If they didn't want the baby then use a fricking condom or if worst come to worst have an abortion. There are people around the world who cannot have children but they are/would be good parents and people who are like this shouldn't be allowed to successfully breed. Distgusting, vile, scum.

We think the same way. I completely agree they should have used a condom or had an abortion if they weren't willing to care for a child. They clearly aren't ready and they should never have decided to keep the child. Hopefully the baby will be placed with a loving family to try to turn its life around.

It's tragic how things like this can be allowed to happen, for example there have been reports quite recently that Chinisese babies have been tied to bollards and such just because there perants cannot afford day care! I know the majority of China are poor, but at least re-think having a baby before then considering the consequences of it. It's a shame so many children are neglected like this, I just with governments had harsher punishments for people like this.
