Kanye West and 50 Cent will share the same release date for their third solo albums as the Chicago rapper's forthcoming project, Graduation, has been pushed back.

Graduation was slated for release on August 21. According to a Def Jam representative, the album will now hit shelves on September 11.

Graduation reportedly features collaborations with Coldplay's Chris Martin and Jon Brion, among others. The album's lead singles, "Cant Tell Me Nothing" and "Stronger," are currently in rotation on major radio stations across the U.S.

50 Cent's album, Curtis , was initially due to hit stores last month but was pushed back to September 4. It was pushed back again last week to September 11.

50 Cent has a history of throwing jabs at Kanye. In various interviews, the G-Unit honcho has questioned West's sexual orientation and described the rapper's music as non-threatening.

"They like Kanye West because he's a safe ni99a," 50 said in a 2006 interview with Hot 97. "It's better for your kid to wanna dress weird and just have a whole other vibe."

"[Kanye] said something in an interview one time that made me think about it. He said because he was raised by his mother, he has feminine ways," he added "That right there is who Kanye West is to me. That statement is stuck in my head. He said it like he meant it".

[Update: When SOHH asked Def Jam if they had any particular reason for pushing back Ye's album or if they were worried about dropping Graduation at the same time as Curtis, a rep replied via email, "Not at all! Good music is good music."

Which Album would you buy on September 11th

There is no doubt in my mind that I'll be buying 50's album. I've never bought or downloaded a Kanye album and don't intend to because he doesn't interest me at all. He's an overrated producer and his flow is terrible as are his lyrics. His songs are nothing special at all and I just don't like the guy. He has too much of a pissy attitude and always throws fits about the littlest things. 50 Cent doesn't have a special flow or delivery with his rhymes but he's entertaining. His singles are great and I just wonder how great the album will be. Kanye's singles on the other hand are lackluster and are generally dull and boring to me.

On Sept. 11, 50 Cent will smash Kanye...I'll be buying 50's

50 Cent>Kanye West anyday...

I don't like rap, but I would go with Kanye if I had a choice, I like Gold Digger, Daimonds, Heard em Say, Jesus Walks, that duet he did with Fall Out Boy, and Stronger. Fitty, man the only ones I liked from him were Hate it or Love it, Outta Control, Outta Control Remix, In Da Club, and Hustla's Ambition. Kanye's music is more tolerable to a non rap audience, he is kind of all over the board, while all fitty wants is money and ho's. So Kanye.

BTW: I am not buying either, I don't buy CD's I download, it's a great american tradition.

I heard both, and i like kanye's a lot more. I won't be buying either, but 50 has fell off. He has a couple good tracks, but most all the a kanye album is good, and my current album of the year.

LOL. Two people voting for 50 here are from New York lol. I think Anigma is singing I Run New York and he is laughing straight to the bank with it. I honestly do think tho that 50 will prevail here and that we will see another album. I just dont think Kanye can pull it off. I just listened to Stronger by Kanye and I Get Money by 50. And I really cant tell you what it is. The beat, the flow of the song, words, what it is, but I just favor 50s new shit over Kanyes. Dont get me wrong, I like Kanyes music, but in this album war I do believe that 50 will come out ahead.

Overall tho, I would say that 50 is better than Kanye. But this music thing just basically comes down to personal preference. You guys watch out. All you 50 guys, V1 is gonna be here tomorrow slangin yak for his boy Kanye. LOL

I really prefer 50 over Kanye. I really havent liked alot of 50s newer stuff, but I think if theres gonna be an album battle, that he will step up to the plate.

Kanye is a better rapper, but it would be more interesting to see if 50 picked his game back up and it wouldn't blow like his last one, also he can produce some sick ass beats sometimes, sorry Kanye.

FYI, I wouldn't buy either of em, Limewire is win.
