Best movie based on a video game

I want to know which movie, based on a video game did everyone like the most.


In my opinion there was a couple good ones.

1 Silent Hill : the game is cool and the movie was creepy as hell plus they left it open to a sequel which Im sure I will like as well.

2 Mortal kombat: besides being one of my favorite games of all time, there was no way I wasnt gonna like it. Even if the movie would have sucked ( and it might have, but I am biased) I would still put this on my favorite list.

mortal kombat didnt live up for the expectations especially the 2nd one. havnt watched silent hill's movie yet...

right now, resident evil (although it wasnt that good either) is my fav. until i remember another one...

Never played the game, but I know the premise. TBH it shouldn't be hard to screw up, but that's when I get nervous about movies based on video games. Resident Evil should've been a nice easy transition to teh screen, but somehow they muck it up as per usual.

There isn't one. They should make a tekken one now that would be cool. Maybe even a GTA but that is a copy of nearly every other movie squished into one

Hitman will be great, as the guy playing agent 47 is the same bloke who played Seth Bullock in Deadwood.

Splinter Cell should be good too


as for other game-movie releases, they all are terrible as i remember.

No way. Nothing beats Spilnter Cell. I have played a lot of games in my time, but none has ever come close to touching that one.

That being said, Splinter Cell has a lot of potential, and so does Rainbow 6, which I believe comes out next year.

But Rainbow 6 will only be good if they cast the right people, and stick to the story line of the book.

Street Fighter. Greatest movie of all time IMO. Raul Julia as Bison, Jean Claude Van Damme as Guile.. Just a classic!!

Alone in the Dark was the worst film I have ever seen. The best video game movie in my opinion is Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

I liked Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter because it was funny watching Gulie an American being played by Jean Claude Van Dam......


Splinter Cell and Hitman movies will suck just like Slient Hill and Resident Evil.....
