90% of TNA's "original" talent work also for ROH, right? In that case, why is that that, when I look here, not one of the people I see are currently on the TNA roster?

Once ROH secured a PPV deal, TNA was forced to pull all their talent from Ring Of Honor because they became a competitor to TNA... Its just business.

Even though ROH lost some wrestlers, they have more than enough to be able to put on a full show.

Where did you get that information from dstebbins, because it's obviously not accurate. Like Soulpower said, TNA and ROH used to exchange talent in the past, much like what TNA and AJPW are doing at the moment. Only a few workers wrestled in ROH full time. When Ring Of Honor got its PPV deal, TNA pulled its contracted wrestlers from ROH, as well as a few other independent promotions.

They still got a few familar faces, Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, and Brent Albright (gunner scott)

Look at 94 and there roster included: Somoa Joe, CM PUnk, Jay Lethal, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Senshi (low ki) Jimmy Yang, Paul London, Brain Kenderick, HOmicide, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelly, COlt Cabana, Jamie Noble, and more.

So, did the wrestlers get to choose which company they went to work for exclusively, or were they usually more under contract for one company than the other?

at that time ROH didn't contract there wrestlers like they do now, and TNA did. so TNA pulled all of there contracted wrestlers...

Yeah, most of them worked for Roh first, and then TNA said sign with us, and sign this contract you'll be on tv, AND you can still work for ROH. So most of them worked both companies, until TNA said you can't work for ROH, which made a few guys mad. (Joe, Aries, Homicide)

That doesn't make sense. From what I read in the Wikipedia articles of numerous TNA wrestlers, they signed "non-exclusive" contracts, so if the contract gives them permission to work for other promotions, then how can TNA change it without writing a whole new contract? Shouldn't TNA have to abide by their side of the contracts?

THey can work for any indy company but ROH, since roh isnt much of a indy anymore with PPV. And TNA has rights to do that. Its legal loopholes, so they could do it.

From my understanding, TNA contracted wrestlers cant compete for promotions that are distributed through third parties, meaning PWG, Chikara, ROH, etc. TNA contracted wrestlers can still accept independent dates, but it has to be approved by TNA management.

When ROH secured a PPV deal, TNA pulled there wrestlers from ROH.

I personally think that TNA didn't want fans to see guys like AJ and Joe putting on great matches etc in ROH and not doing that in TNA.
so fans didn't wonder "Why isn't he isn't doing that in TNA?"
Hard to explain lol, hopefully you get the gist of what i mean.

This happened basically because ROH never contracted wrestlers at that time where as TNA did. TNA wrestlers can still work for other indy promotions most notably like "PWG".
