Now that vista is on the shelves,Microsoft is focussing on its next major Operating system release, Windows Vienna. Even though Windows Vienna is going to be a major release with a totally revised GUI, Microsoft made a bold statement : By the end of 2009, Vienna will hit the shelves!

Windows Vienna will represent the start of a different generation of Operating Systems, bringing in new concepts and support for new types of hardware, along with a better security and a modular approach, which will allow future versions of Windows to be built more easily on Windows Vienna's Engine..

comments on this new OS from Microsoft Factory?
in my opinion,if Microsoft is claiming to start from scratch to make Vienna,2009 is definately a bold time slot given by them..

thanx

we'll have to see when Microsoft launches it..if they r claiming that future OS's will be made on Vienna Engine, then its got to be a good and stable one like windows 2000 engine..

Great One

I doubt it will probably be at the end of 2009, with the problems they had with Vista, they'll probably test and experiment much more. Anyways, looks ok, although they could change it more probably.

this is just a preview..am sure, the end product will hav loads of changes..in my opinion, still we have a year to go before Vista can be pronounced a standard and stable OS..
