As we discussed on the TNA Bound for Glory Post-Game show last night in the PWInsider Elite section, the original plan for the PPV was for Bobby Roode to defeat Kurt Angle for the TNA championship to close the PPV. The story going around was that yesterday afternoon, Hulk Hogan lobbied to have the finish changed, feeling that Roode wasn't ready for a run with the title. So, the finish was changed.

Between that and the AJ Styles stuff in the last few days, there was a lot of resentment towards Hogan among the long time members of the roster. The resentment was especially at a high because Hogan was ripping on Styles on Twitter when everyone knew Styles had missed the TNA Fan Interaction event due to a death in the family.
One running joke I heard after the PPV, which to a person, everyone agreed wasn't a strong show, was whether roster talents could "request a transfer" to Jeff Jarrett's new India project.

Everyone that read the interview with Hogan from last week will see that he clearly doesn't like Roode at all so it is no surprise he lobbied to get the finish changed. It is so dumb because Roode had been built like a star and now he is a nobody again. The star of BFG should have been Roode but once again the star was Hogan. Hogan only knows how to promote himself, he is killing TNA by only putting himself over.

When his comments in the interview were made public, my hope was that it wasn't a sign of things to come, and wouldn't you know it, it was. If I was Robert Roode I'd be disappointed and upset at the same time. All that promotion and positive talk now seems empty and fake, as well as pointless and it's a shame because I feel like it was good television. It was dumb because they allowed Hulk to abuse his political pull and, at the same time, Kurt Angle just got another DUI and is injured, so why keep the belt on him?

If it was anyone else they would have been suspended for saying all those bad things about top new stars especially right before a PPV. It is so pathetic that Hogan had to come out a few days early to plan this and talk down Roode when everyone else was excited for him. TNA were heading in the right direction with tv but then they spoiled it at the PPV with such an anticlimactic ending. It was the perfect time for the title change as like you said Angle had recently been arrested again plus he has injured his hamstring plus he is focussed on making the Olympics. Stupid decision not to give the belt to Roode at TNA's WrestleMania.

I read somewhere that there's still discussion about putting the belt on Roode, possibly on an episode of Impact Wrestling or a different pay-per-view, which, in my opinion, would still be great but not mean as much because Bound For Glory is their biggest pay-per-view of the year and he had awesome hype going into the match. This same report suggests they may be holding off and putting the belt on Hardy, which I think would be a mistake because he hasn't yet proven that he can be trusted and that he's there to stay for the long haul. Then again they seem to be content with letting people that have criminal incidents represent them because, "Oh people won't look at that, they'll see a former WWE guy that now works for us and is still tearing the house down every time he steps in the ring." Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy are each very entertaining in their own right still but TNA needs to quit enabling their talent's vices and essentially rewarding their bad behavior. There's been enough tragedy in this business that you think someone would've woken up by now, whether it's the talent of the management, and to see that some of them haven't is disappointing to say the least.

Back to Hulk, it was one thing when he used his power to control what happened to himself, but to do it to someone else was another low entirely. As a fan, this has opened my eyes, but I imagine being in a Robert Roode or an AJ Styles' boots is the next step up in being disheartened about this, not only because of their tenure in the business and the company, but because that's Hulk Hogan, someone a lot of us grew up watching and looking up to.

Hogan's a dick.

Why do so many people love him, he sucks wrestling-wise and he kills promotions.

Whether he ends up getting the belt or not, they had a chance to make Roode a megastar and they passed on it. I don't understand Hogan saying he doesn't have star power when his short run as #1 contender was picking up momentum. You will never make a star if you don't try. Putting the belt back on Hardy right away would be idiotic for that reason alone.

Thats the thing if they have Roode win the title at Impact or the next PPV it won't mean as much. They could have had him win it at the biggest PPV in TNA's calender and he would have won it in his first attempt which makes it even bigger. Now it will be a letdown when he wins it because it could have been huge and they could have made themselves a new star. If I was Roode or Styles I would be pissed and with Hogan being there for two more years I would put out feelers to WWE to see if they want me. These two have done everything for TNA and then Hogan just shits on them.

it ruined the show, I thought that due to the way the match ended sting or someone was going to restart the match and then roode would win, I can understand their reasons if they want to give him the beltin a month or two as this result will give reason for a rematch, but BFG should be clean finishes not confusing and stupid endings.

I mean what was the point of the whole BFG series which dominated TV for months if the winner is going to loose

^Great point. It doesn't help the credibility of the BFG Series if this was the way they were going to book the winner. The BFG Series should have been a way to create a new star but by having Roode lose it hurts him a lot. I thought that they would restart the match as well because of the bad finish but it seems like they are ignoring it.
