SP's Extreeeeme Review 05/29/07
Welcome to this week's ECW review. Normally I would say something funny (or something I find funny) but I've got nothing.. I can always edit it, and add something.
We are live from Canada... That's it, because there's no cities in Canada.
Randy comes out and says he's not making any friends after beating down RVD and HBK.. That's because Orton only beats up guys who go by their initials... HHH, you're next! We see footage from last night and we learn that RVD suffered a concussion. He challenged RVD to a Stretcher Match at ONS (more initials) in which the loser goes on a stretcher.... Right to TNA.
Dreamer comes out and interrupts Orton, challenging him to a match later on the show. Orton vows to kill the legend of ECW, something that Vince did long ago.
Commercial... Punk v Burke up next. We learn that there will be a 6-man tag table match at ONS. Punk-Dreamer-Sandman vs Burke-Striker and Cor Brown.
CM Punk vs Elijah Burke (No DQ match, which means someone will interfeere)
Both men exchange Hammerlocks at the start, and Punk comes back with a high kick. Punk follows up with a Cross-body from the second rope and then sends Burke to the outside with a Clothesline. Burke grabs a chair but Punk hits a baseball slide sending Burke to the ground.
Commercial!!
We're back and Burke has taken control and a table is now in the ring. Burke sets the table in the corner but Punk goes for a roll-up and gets a two count. Punk hits an Enzuiguri and follows up with the Running Knee in the corner. Punk goes for the Bulldog but Elijah counters into a Back Suplex. Punk ends up on the apron and snaps Burke's head on the top Rope. Punk goes for the Springboard Clothesline but slips (Shelton'd) which draws a You Fucked Up chant from the crowd. He manages to get up and tries to put Burke away but Cor Von interferes with a chair. Punk takes it from him and throws it in his face. After Punk tries to hit the Go2Sleep, Burke breaks out of it, and Cor Von hits a Pouuuuuunce that drives Punk through the table. And Burke the pin.
Winner: Elijah Burke... Great match despite the botch, for the people who haven't seen ECW yet (you know who you are) make sure to watch this match.
After a commercial we get a split-screen promo with Vince and Lashley... it sucked. Funny moment, a couple of guys were talking in the Chatbox about how Bobby has improved on the mic. Lashley then promptly calls Sunday's PPV.... Last Night Stand! I can't make this shit up.
Commercials... And we're back and its Extreme Expose... They do their thing and the crowd goes MILD!!!
Kevin Thorn comes out next, and he will face Balls Mahoney.
Kevin Thorn vs. Balls Mahoney (Jobbing, so easy a caveman can do it)
Thorn decks Balls with a clothesline then rams his shoulder into the post. He then hits a sit down power bomb then Original Sin and the pin.
Winner: Kevin Thorn
Backstage, Striker is talking some stuff (I was't paying attention) to the Majors Brothers and says he'll have a challenge for them next week. Commercial!
Tommy Dreamer vs. Randy Orton (Innovator of Violence vs The innovator of \__O___/)
Orton takes control early with.... A headlock. Which Randy follows up with.... A headlock. Eventually Dreamer traps Orton in the corner and hits a Suplex from the second rope. Dreamer unloads with rights, and hits a Bulldog (A British Bulldog?). Dreamer hits a Sit-Down Spine Buster then hangs Randy upside on the corner (Tree of Woe!!) and dropkicks him. He hits an inverted DDT, but only gets a two-count. Dreamer goes for a regular DDt, but Orton counters into the RKO for the pin, and the win.
Winner: Randy Orton \__O___/ (He still sucks by the way)
After the match Orton hits another RKO on Dreamer and poops in his face... One of these things didn't happen. Orton kicks Tommy in the head like he did HBK and RVD. RVD comes to the ring and Orton punches him and Van Dam goes down looking glazed (or high). The impact of that punch can be compared to the impact of Khali's Brain Chop (ie: None)
And Orton also debuts.... His new shirt!!!!
Best Moment of the Night: Punk vs Burke.... These guys are the future Vince. Don't blow it
Worst moment of the night: The Vince-Lashley promo. It was funny for all the wrong reasons and it did nothing to pump me up for their match on Sunday.
Thumbs in the middle for this show and its all thanks to Punk vs Burke... Watch this match on Daily Motion, but don't bother wasting an hour to watch the full show.
