Orton...Here we go again (Bad booking)

Last Monday on Raw, Orton challenged HBK to a match because, as Randy stated, "I think I can beat you."

Well on Sunday, according to a WWE.com interview with Orton, Randy will "Kill the Legend of HBK!"

After reading that interview all I could do was shake my head in disgust and disbelief.

First of all, didn't Orton already kill the legend of HBK back in 2003? Hadn't Randy beaten HBK numerous times back in late 2003? Its just another case of the WWE thinking its fans are stupid.

Anyway, that wasn't really my real point. Its just related to it. Why hasn't Orton dropped the Legend Killer gimmick yet? When is the last time he actually killed a legend? Does it even matter when he faces legends anymore?

For the past three years, every time Orton has threatened to kill another Legend he has lost. This totally kills the credibilty of his character and makes Orton seem insignificant. For every big match with big hype Orton is in, he takes 2 steps back after losing.

What makes matters worse this time is that the WWE was hinting as a face turn. Orton was starting to get awesome face pops leading up to backlash and even afterwards during his match with Edge.

Now I know all the SD injuries and Edge's move to SD may have had something to do with this. However, Orton is in dire need of a career makeover. The legend killer is as stale as stale can get. So what does the WWE do, they go backwards instead of looking forward.

What they should have done was move Orton over to SD as a face to feud with Edge. Why waste a perfectly good, ready made feud. They could have sent Benoit over to Raw and turn him heel, giving Cena a fresh opponent for Summerslam.

Bottomline, the WWE needs to kill the legend of the legend killer.

yeah i agree with most u say, the legend killer gimmick is becoming over used, orton should be a face, and i think he will be, if it's true that hhh will return as heel, and his first feud will be against orton, i don't see a heel vs heel feud... so i think they will turn him sooner or later

only thing i do not agree is the benoit vs cena feud, not because it's a bad idea to turn benoit heel(interesting point) but making benoit tap to cena (again, and trust me it would happen) is the worst thing wwe could do right now... cena could receive so many boos he has not received in his entire carrier

I'd actually give the belt to Benoit for a month or so just to get some of the heat off Cena.

Buit then basically Benoit would be a face for actually beating Cena.

I guess the only solution would be to keep Benoit face and turn Cena. We all know thats not going to happen. Although it should.

Imagine the crowds reaction to Benoit making Cena tap to the STFU. It would be insane.

I agree with some things tha Cenamark said such as Randy being on Smackdown, I think he never should have left after he was drafted there it was really cheap and he hasn't done anything but Rated RKO since coming back to Raw. Also theyshould trade Randy Orton for Chris Benoit and thos two switch places. I seriously haven't seen a great Randy Orton match since his hardcore match with Mick Foley.

I'm still disappointed he didn't go over Hogan and Taker, it's bullshit. Honestly, if he can stick with the Legend Killer gimmick just to at least kill Taker's, then I'll be happy, so if they're not going in that direction, then yes, I say drop the gimmick.

i think the legend killer gimmick is tying Orton from actually getting a huge push. That is, the WWE wont try to always make Orton feud with the same storyline over and over again (to end a legend)... This wont be the case of making Orton gaining an interest to get the huge push he had before..

So i think they need to try and end that gimmick either with making a new statement about him that he has another interest in something else rather than ending legacies.

They can put him in a stable and make him feud against HBK as just heel vs face.

Another possibility is they can give a time off for Orton, then after 2 months or so, bring him back with a brand new gimmick, and start to feud with maybe HHH.

If they want him to end a legand first before actually changing his gimmick, then he should first feud with Vince McMahon then afterwards change the gimmicks would be reasonable for me.

Damn I dont know where to begin on this. Ummmm I agree Orton should go to SD. A Benoit- Orton trade would be great, cuz Edge and Orton could continue their feud this time for Gold, and Benoit could challenge Cena. I do think no matter whether he is heel or face he desparately needs to drop the Legend Killer gimmick its just useless.

I think that Orton should turn face. The best way to turn him face would be to have him feud him Vince Mchmahon. Everyone will cheer for the person who goes againts Mchmahon so that would automatically turn him face. Once he is face feud him with the Champion of either Raw or Smackdown. I would draft him to Smackdown in exchange for Benoit and then have him feud with Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. Orton will win the title from Edge at a PPV and Kennedy will be back by then. With Kennedy back those three can have a three way feud. Undertaker and Booker T will have a non title feud with Booker getting revenge on Undertaker for injuring him. This is what I think should happen but of course this will never happen.

The Legend Kill gimmick was good at first untill they made hoim continually to legends like hogan and taker, which reduces the credibillity of the gimmick and because of this it has become stale.

An Orton - Benoit trade would be awsome.
Orton could go to feud as a face with Edge, But that being said i'd prefer if Orton Didn't win the title due to the fact i want to see the Edge - Kennedy feud for the belt, although Orton is in need of a title reign more than kennedy.

Benoit could go over to raw and stay face and feud with a heel cena, mainly due to the fact Cena would get horribly boo'ed.

benoit cannot feud with cena because cena beat him clean prior to wrestlemania, so benoit have lost any credibility of winning cena(bad booking). cena would not turn heel because the e likes the merchandise sales they get from him

What was awesome on Raw was the terrible booking of both Shawn Michaels promos. I love how Shawn Michaels came out and told Edge to leave after Edge already said he was leaving. Pretty pointless. Also Edge challenges Shawn Michaels to a match as if he was answering Michaels challenge. It left me wondering, did Edge jump the gun? Did Shawn Michaels forget to challenge Edge? Michaels looked like trash too with that hat.

Then Orton comes up and wishes Michaels luck on his match. Michaels says what is your point. And Orton blurts out, "I am better than you." Why in the world would you wish someone luck so you could say you're better? It made Orton look really foolish. So we have Orton and Michaels set up in a match that should have been built up and instead is thrown together as basically a filler. Once again, what is the WWE doing?

All Orton needs is a good fued for a few months where he comes out the victor. Edge would have been perfect but that cant happen now. So there using HBK to replace Edge I guess. There match at JD is occuring becuase of nothing, but if they heaten the fued up, make it personal, make it last a few months and have Orton come out the victor it will really help. He then can go on to fued with Cena and beat him for the title. Orton then fueds with the returning HHH and wins that fued, he now has credibility again and heel heat.

orton won't get the title anytime soon, as long as he is an asshole outside the ring... i believe he would be squashed in his feud against HHH as punishment
