BANNING, Calif. -- Banning police are investigating the deaths of three people found inside a home on the eastern edge of the city.
Police Chief Leonard Purvis told News Channel 3 officers found the bodies on Tuesday morning at the home near the intersection of Phillips and Williams Streets, just north of Interstate 10.
Two of the victims were parents of a 2-year-old child. Their bodies were found with another adult female, he said.
At first, police said they feared the toddler was missing but later found the child in a closet. Purvis said the child had been tied up.
The names of the victims have not been released.
Purvis said they do not know the relationship between the parents and the other woman.
He also said the focus of their investigation is honing in on murder, but investigators are not ruling out a possible murder-suicide.
