[h=5]We can confirm that former WWE star and DX member Billy Gunn has signed with WWE to return as a full-time trainer for their NXT developmental territory. The two sides started talking back at WrestleMania 28 and he was signed on part-time with NXT in July. As of this writing, he will NOT be appearing on television. He has also taken steps to clean up his life and appears to be sober these days.

His real-life best friend, Brian "Road Dogg" James, is currently an agent with WWE.[/h]

Would be good to see him as a trainer for NXT, sucks he won't be appearing on Television however. I wouldn't mind him having a match or being in the rumble at least.

Probably best to let him work in one central location to stay clean over traveling to start out.

This is probably best for him right now. I don't think he'd be able to handle anything any more serious than being a trainer. He'll help those young guys out a lot.

I have no interest seeing him back as a on screen guy anyways so this is fine if he can be good at it.

if this counts as a WWE Re-hire, then consider me 1 for 1 as I predicted this one on the "re-hire" thread, not that anyone cares... nor should they
Good for Billy

Good signing as a trainer, plenty of experience in the big time.

Not gonna lie, would mark if Outlaws returned on TV.

Only if they just did their entrance and that was it.

I want to see a Billy Gun/Dolph Ziggler moment. The little kids in the crowd would be all "Is that his dad?"

I think it would be funny.

Well this doesn't seem like a big deal. I just hope I don't have to see him return to TV. He sucks on the mic and in the ring.

Good hire, maybe he can teach the muscleheads they hire to actually play a decent big man, he did help TNA do that when they started hiring more big men.

Can't see him on TV, Assman isn't very PG and is also the single worst entrance theme evar.

He got by on his look and being in the DX boom but that's really ok because he really was a solid hand in the ring for a built guy. I find his awkwardness sort of funny actually so bit-parts on TV would work fine for me too but if they're going to bring back good midcard talent to solidy the brand then they also need appointments like this so the guys coming up through NXT that AREN'T indy vets learn from someone who's been around the block.

They have a pretty good mixture of trainers down in FCW now. Along with Billy Gunn they have Bill Demott, Rick Steamboat, Billy Kidman, Joey Mercury, Norman Smiley and Sara Del Ray. Good to see that WWE aren't cutting costs with training, they need FCW to continue to produce quality talent for them so they should be paying for half a dozen top trainers that know what it takes to make it.

Just for one night. No need for a full-time basis.

As for the signing, I expected this to happened. I actually thought he was signed a while back but I'm glad to know that he is cleaning himself up.
