Surprised Hatred has not spoken up in this thread yet lmao. Tbh I think Sheamus has had a great reign, some people will hate it but you cannot deny he carries himself well, is 70% of the time great on the mic, and great in the ring. Sure you could play the same old move set card but tbh it's like that with every star that's established because it get's the kids excited quick. I mean he doesn't always end matches with the Brogue Kick even though they're trying to build that, the cloverleaf is good and I still think he should use the finisher he used when he was WWE Champ (high cross?).

I could see him holding the for longer, and have no problem with it. With the Ziggler cash in talk, idk, I think he's ready in ring, but then again his selling seems to be over the top to me, and on the mic/promos I'm not sure. He can cut them, but connecting with the crowd is another thing and if he fails to do that just like champs in the past have his reign could be cut short when he does get it...

I'm a huge Sheamus fan. I have so much respect for wrestlers who after only a few years move to being top of the food chain. Sheamus is a multi-time world champion and there isn't many within WWE that can say that. Obviously WWE seen something in him which they realised they could work with and it has come off for them. He hasn't had many great matches but I'm looking forward to another 10-15 years of Sheamus as a main event talent. Dolph Ziggler is not world champion material, he is an awful wrestler.

That sentence discredited everything that you said in your post.

Literally the only bad thing I have to say about Sheamus and his title reign is that the finishes of his PPV matches have all been pretty underwhelming for the most part compared to the quality of the match itself.

Match wise his reign has been damn good. Don't feel like his in ring ability has been given enough credit. My main issue with his reign is that it's been too bland storyline wise which might be in part because he isn't that good on the mic or character wise. He's serviceable on the mic just not as good as he should be considering his spot. Hopefully he gets a interesting feud storyline wise before his run is up since that is what has hampered it for me but otherwise I like it and like the fact that he's getting a lengthy run.

I think his reign has been pretty decent, but the Del Rio thing is getting boring. That and it's usually heel vs. face kind of stuff. He normally gets the upperhand in every attack and such. It's annoying. They pretty much play him up as the unstoppable face, which is never fun. He needs a tweak in his character, and someone a little more interesting to feud with. Big Show would be pretty awesome, as I don't think Sheamus has ever really faced him, and if it's for the title, it would give the story an almost unsure edge.

If you haven't watched RAW then look away now

I agree that they really do need to move on from the Del Rio feud and I am sure that their match at NOC was their last PPV match against each other for quite sometime. With Big Show returning on RAW tonight and facing Randy Orton in the mainevent on Smackdown this week it is the perfect opportunity to start a feud with him and Sheamus.

As for his character it would be better if he was a bit more ruthless rather than moving so far across into the face side of things but it is still working as he is now one of the most popular wrestlers. I am another that liked him as a heel so that is an option again for the future but for now it would be a terrible idea to turn him heel. Smackdown needs a big face star to draw in the viewers and Sheamus is becoming that guy.

Almost all of the MiTB winners have been mid carders and built as mid carders before cashing in. You don't have to look strong to take advantage of a situation, you probably should, but it's not a neccessity. Edge, Punk, Miz and Bryan were all propelled to main event status by the briefcase while, in mid card. Edge was challenging for the IC title the night he won the title. That's what makes MiTB such a good idea, it instantly creates a star.
Swagger had the possibility of becoming big after winning MiTB, but his lack of mic skills and somewhat laughable character made it near impossible. Even though his booking was shocking prior to winning, it would have been possible to get him over under the circumstances.

Edge's first run was nothing though it wasn't till months later after losing the belt that he was taken seriously as a Main Eventer. Punk wasn't a legit Main Eventer until the WWE Summer Of Punk despite 2 WHC runs. Look at Miz now, he's been jobbed out for ages and is now toiling away as IC Champ which is meaningless in modern WWE. Bryans over because of YES and Swagger was just horribly booked. However I disagree with Swagger having bad mic skills, hes good on the mic, confident, he just has a lisp and gets torn apart by the IWC for it, Dusty Rhodes has a lisp as well.

The WWE needed more top faces, so I agree that Sheamus shouldn't be turned right now. He's doing great as a face anyway.

He's probably my favourite guy on the roster at the moment.

He's over, he can talk and despite what the haters say he can damn sure wrestle too. I'd say he has consistently put on better matches than his nearest comparison John Cena who I find tend to has lots of average and dud matches before something awesome like with Punk.

If they're serious about making him the undisputed face of SmackDown then they should have the longest WHC run since being introduced into the WWE. I was looking earlier and I believe it's roughly about 100 days away so it's not too crazy to think they might actually go that route.

As far as the reign goes i've enjoyed it and it's no different to Punk's reign or most other reigns infact, it's had it's good points and it's had it's not so good points.

Despite some questionable booking and a lack of development on his character, I think Sheamus has had a pretty impressive title reign so far.

He's been consistently good on TV each week and his title defenses have all been nothing less than solid. Even his matches against Del Rio have been good, it's just the storyline that has made the whole thing between them two look very poor.

After his feud with Del Rio ends (which should have ended a long time ago), I wouldn't mind seeing Ziggler take the gold. At this stage there's be no one left for Sheamus to defend his title against. A Ziggler title win would freshen things up a bit.

So how close is he to SmackDown!'s "real" record holder JBL?

I think if we are going to narrow down this title reigns they should be brand regulated since the switching of the WWE and WHC titles during the last few years has been pretty horrendous and pointless. It's not like the top draw really ever leaves Raw for SD!.

Lets hope this is the case. Alberto Del Rio has not impressed me at all and feuding with Sheamus just isn't getting him over as a good enough heel. ADR's in-ring work is questionable as is his mic work and his ability to work the crowd. There just isn't anything good about it him which is why feuding with Sheamus just isn't working. Sheamus totally out does ADR in everything whether it be in the ring or during segments backstage. I would like to see a heel turn by Sheamus at some point towards the end of the year.

Probably one of the most incredibly boring Title runs I've ever witnessed. I'm sick of him facing the same people and beating the same people over and over.

I rarely ever call for heel turns, but I really miss heel Sheamus.

Same old crap every single week. Face Sheamus is so boring that I would rather watch an another Big Show/Henry match. Sheamus was a great persona when he was heel but like this...meh.

At least give the guy more challengers not one for almost half a year.
