WWE.com has learned John Cena had surgery to remove bone chips in his elbow today. Dr. Andrews removed several pieces of bone cartilage from Cena's elbow through a scope. A surgery like this will take four to six weeks to recover.

As more information comes available, WWE.com will inform the WWE Universe.

Interesting news. 4-6 weeks recovery time, means he may still just make his match with Punk for Hell In A Cell.

I don't see how this stops Cena from being on TV since his last injury didn't do that and that had a longer recovery time at first.

Won't make a difference in the grand scheme of things. Expect more tag matches to reduce the workload or more squashes of someone like Otunga.

Also the article has just been updated with two to three weeks recovery time.

HITC is in 4-6 weeks so even if it didn't get shortened to 2 to 3 he still would have made the PPV.

this doesnot mean cena wont be on tv or it's not the end of pg era . He wont probably wrestle house shows and will be in tag matches on raw . Thats it .this injury wont save us from him corny promos or goofy acting .

You haven't been watching have you.

Cena is serz now. Promos are stronger than Punks atm and he just had a 5 star match.

Can't wait for Hell In A Cell if his match with Punk at NOC was any indicator. They'll tear the house down. Get well soon, Cena.

Yup this won't effect much of anything other then probably taking serious Cena off the table. He'll have to do backstage segments with Ryder and Santino

Honestly this would be a good time to do a injury angle with Cena whether it be Punk taking him out and Punk faces someone else (though I want to see Punk/Cena hitc) or run a whodunit angle taking Cena out but Cena still makes the PPV but gets cost the match by whoever attacked him giving him a new feud.

Could possibly put Punk on the next level people seem to think he needs to be at. Personally I just think that WWE have put Cena above a belt so long that it's not a matter of going to his level but him going back to the rest of the herd. But you could be right PHX time off doesn't hurt.
