If you haven't heard the other day a French newspaper published topless photographs of Kate Middleton. These grainy photos were taken whilst Princess Kate and Prince William were on holiday in France. They were by the pool on a private property and Kate was sunbathing topless. The french paper Closer published the photos whilst no paper in Britain would touch it. The royals are now suing the paper for an invasion of privacy.

I think that it is great that they are suing and they should win. If she was on a public beach then it would be a bit different but this is at a private residence. Since it was at a private residence you shouldn't be allowed to take photos from the outside in, that should be and most likely is illegal because you are spying on people. There is also the fact that the paparazzi are stalking them and for that alone they should be punished.

I have never understood why the paparazzi are allowed to stalk people, who cares if they are famous you shouldn't be allowed to chase someone in a car or camp outside their house.

What are your thoughts on this scandal? Should the paparazzi have been allowed to take the photos and should the Closer be allowed to publish them?

The pics are terrible, weren't even worth publishing by the magazine. Kinda' funny that this happens just a little after those Prince William pics.

As I understand it no road is public all public soil is british soil as in government and when pics are taken of the royal family they require vetting. It's BS but it's been that way for years.

You can't take pictures of people on private property as it is an invasion of privacy. If I stood on a public road and started fliming someone in their shower it would be illegal, I wouldn't be able to get away with it because I was standing on a public road.

Morally this is the wrong and it is an invasion of privacy. What the press are doing now is the equivalent of what they done whilst Princess Diana was alive and it quite frankly makes me sick. Yes, they are the Royal Family but a line has to be drawn somewhere and on two occasions the press have overstepped that imaginary line twice with the nude pictures of Prince Harry and now Kate Middleton. I hope Kate and Prince William sue the papers which have printed these personal pictures for millions.

That is the really scary thing, the paparazzi caused Princess Diana's death and now they are going after Kate. Understandably William is furious and he is suing anyone that is printing the photos plus the photographer that took them. I hope that those that print it have to pay them millions as well since this is so wrong.

The scumbag former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi has announced that at least one of his magazines will be printing these photos as well.

How far can the paparazzi go before it is labeled as stalking? It's as if they get a free pass to perv on any individual they want before they explain to the police 'Oh we work for the newspapers'...Get a real job.

^That is what I have never understood. How are they allowed to follow people around everyone, camp outside their houses, chase them in the streets yet they don't get arrested for stalking. I think that the laws really need to change to ensure that these people get some privacy, just because they are famous doesn't mean we have an automatic right to know what they do in their personal lives.

Really wish I hadn't bothered seeing them, didn't even look like Kate anyway and if it wasn't for them suing they probably could of got away with saying it wasn't them.
