While heading to the back, Cena told officials that he couldn't move his arm, but he knows it's not torn.

Cena also cut a promo after his win at Extreme Rules claiming he is taking time off.

If this is true; how long do you see Cena taking time off for? If he returns, when should it be and who should he face then?

That arm move Brock did to him looked painful as fuck so not shocked that he can't move it just hope something didn't break or anything. If he is taking time off probably will be a month or 2 at most.

I'd have Cena return at Summerslam.

It's enough time and Cena does deserve a good rest, he's done so much for WWE it's unbelievable.

I hate to see him go, but he needs a break. I think Brock will get the title sometime between now and SummerSlam, then Cena will come back and face him at SummerSlam for the title. Beat him again haha. Love it.

The man should take a year off. I'm not saying that as an anti-Cena kind of guy. He's always done so much for the company, and rarely took any time off. He deserves it.

That's a good thought, Lesnar wins the title at Summerslam and Cena returns out of the blue.

John Cena appeared to have injured his left arm during his match with Brock Lesnar at tonight's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, and hinted that he may be leaving for awhile. After defeating the former UFC heavyweight champion at tonight's event, Cena took the mic and addressed the crowd.

"I'm probably going to get sent home for speaking when I'm not spoken to, but I think I'm headed home anyway," Cena said after the match. "And if I know my boss, he's going to kick me out the door, but he's going to do it on air, so I hope this is for the world to see."

"Chicago, I know this is CM Punk's town, but above all else, this is a wrestling town. Tonight, you people were supposed to see the extreme. I've got no left arm, I'm tasting my own blood... and I'm damn proud to say it was in Chicago, IL."

"All of us -- good guys, bad guys, big guys, small guys -- all of us give everything we have every night for you guys. And if I gotta take a vacation, so be it. If I'm going away for a while, I just wanna say thanks for one hell of a last ride. I feel great tonight, even with this Chicago crowd that may or may not like me. I listen to that and I think, if I'm going out, I wouldn't want to do it any other way! Thank you guys, go home safe!"

While heading to the back, Cena told officials that he couldn't move his arm, but he knows it's not torn.

That's his whole speech along with the excerpt Andrew posted.

I think that arm submission Lesnar put him in is what did it. He was torqued pretty bad in that position which has really soured me on Lesnar's run already if this is how its going to be from now on. But that's for a different thread. Looking at Cena's arm post match, it almost looked like his tricep was a little disfigured so I guess it comes down to what the injury is. You can still move a torn muscle, it just depends on the level of the tear. I'm not sure what the heal time is on a tricep tear but I'd say three months minimum without surgery. With? We could see him gone most of the year.

I really don't know who he should feud with upon return. I think Lesnar's run is going to culminate with Taker kicking his ass at Wrestlemania. That question can't really be accurately answered until we know his leave time and what the landscape looks like when he's set to return.

If he really wanted to take a long hiatus, return at Rumble next year would be most logical choice.

This way either Brock/Rock could have the title then and Cena wins the Rumble thus facing them at Mania.

Lesnar did to the submission move to Cena's arm, so Cena could sell an injury after the match so he can go and play in The Marine 3

Summerslam or Night of Champions works for me. You get him back in time to start a super build for Mania. It takes him away long enough so that when he returns a few people will want to see him.

I'm positive it was the Kimura that did it, that torque looked sick, Brock was very reckless in that match, almost injured himself pretty badly with the one spot over the top rope. I don't know when Cena will retain and can't predict it because we don't know how severe this is yet.

I agree that Cena's arm did look a little messed up, and he tried to move it to use the ropes and what not on the way out and it didn't work to well. I hope it's not torn. That would look bad on Brock honestly. First match back and you injure the face? If he did that to Orton, he would be throwing a bitch fest, but Cena is better than that.

CHICAGO – John Cena's victory over Brock Lesnar came with a steep price, as WWE.com has learned the Cenation leader suffered an injured left arm in his Extreme Rules Match against the wrecking machine at Extreme Rules in Chicago.
Lesnar made it a point to punish Cena's arm in their hotly anticipated bout in Chicago's sold-out Allstate Arena, trapping his arm in a Kimura Lock halfway through their show-stopping clash. And while Cena – who also took an elbow in the opening moments of the match that split his head open – beat Lesnar by a narrow margin with an Attitude Adjustment on the steel steps, it appears he has ended up the worse for wear despite the victory.

"The most obvious injury was the laceration to his head, which caused a substantial amount of bleeding," said WWE locker room physician Dr. Chris Amann. "He also has suffered a shoulder injury. Initial testing in the training room leads me to believe there may be torn muscles, possibly a torn rotator cuff or a biceps muscle."

Unfortunately, there are no specifics available as to the extent of Cena’s condition, although he is still scheduled to appear on tomorrow's Raw SuperShow. Dr. Amann told WWE.com reporters that doctors would be conducting additional tests in the morning to determine the full scope of Cena’s injuries.
