The best pound by pound fighter of the world is back to the trainings. Anderson Silva, who stayed a while off the gym due to an injury on his shoulder, started training in Rio de Janeiro again, at X-Gym, and TATAME followed closely the train of the UFC champion, who hasn’t fought since his one-sided domination over Yushin Okami.

Can't wait for Anderson Silva to fight again. Fingers crossed it is against Chael, in Brazil inside a soccer stadium filled with 60k rabid fans. Going to be an awesome fight to watch and the atmosphere will be crazy.

Part of me actually wants Sonnen to beat Silva just to see what the crowd does. I have no doubt that there would be a riot in the event of a Sonnen win.

I've thought about that possibility a lot only because i don't want to completely discredit Chael as he's actually a pretty good, but no doubt there would be riots if he did actually pull out a win.

He should face someone else before Sonnen, IMO.

I don't want any Shogun-esque excuses about ring rust or 'not being at 100%' when Chael beats him.

Plus, I'd like to see Sonnen/Bisping in the interim.

Anderson has never made an excuse... then again he hasn't lost in the UFC. He's had layoffs, he's had time off for injuries before and he always came back and won his fights. So why in the world would there all of a sudden be some sort of excuse? Hell he went into the Chael fight hurting and still won that one.

Chael is NOT going to beat Silva. End of story.

Not really 'end of story' though is it.

You can quote the old "but he won, and thats all that matters" all you like, but it doesnt change the fact that Sonnen laid a hellacious beating on Silva for nearly 25 minutes. So its not as clear cut as "Anderson wins [/thread]"

Also I must of missed something, because Im sure he was making grovelling apologies and excuses galore after his pathetic performances against Maia, Leites and Cote.

Sonnen looked great in the Stann fight, granted he might not dominate Siva like that, but either way he's the biggest threat to Silva, and I hate the guy so that's hard to admit.

Agree though that Silva should have a comeback fight first, but I doubt it's going to happen cause there's no one to throw in there against him. Either way he needs to take a Sonnen fight more serious this time around, he can't come in and half ass it like I think he did in the first fight.
