Abyss will need dental surgery to repair the bottom row of his teeth, which were badly damaged during an errant springboard kick from Rob Van Dam at the Impact tapings on Monday.

Abyss, who immediately left the tapings on Monday after the injury, received a lot of praise from those I spoke to in the company after Tuesday's tapings, noting he still worked despite being in massive amounts of pain.

Ouch that must have been one messed up kick. Respect to him for finishing the match and for working again the next day. He would be in a tonne of pain from that. Hopefully he doesn't have to pay for the repairs.

See and this is why I hate Rob Van Dam. He is so sloppy in the ring it is awful to watch. Abyss getting hurt sucks, as I am a big Abyss fan. I am glad he was able to pull out the win in this match, but still. Abyss earns my complete respect for finishing the match. This guy should get a push for this. I really hope this doesn't keep him out for long as he's already lost the TV title to injury.

Once again RDV's sloppiness hurts another worker. Nothing new.

Abyss should look like a hockey player now.

Did they go for the finish right after the spot or did he have to keep wrestling another five minutes? Hopefully they went for a quick finish so that he could get some medical help because that would be so painful.

Believe it or not, Abyss won't be missing any ring time, despite the dental injuries he incurred this past Tuesday against Rob Van Dam during an Impact taping that aired this past Thursday.

TNA sources indicate that Abyss underwent dental surgery on Thursday, having repair work done to his upper lip and having 4-5 damaged teeth pulled.
I am told that Abyss has indicated to everyone that he'll be ready to return to the ring within a week, which means he's one of the toughest people on the planet.

This guy is tough. I know that he has taken some sickening bumps in some crazy matches but to not miss time after an injury like this shows toughness and dedication. Hopefully TNA can give him a lot of respect for doing this.

He was injured in the first minute of the match, and after watching it again he got nailed twice in the mouth hard. Van Dam was wrestling stiff the entire match, and Abyss clearly was taking a beating. It went on for several minutes afterward instead of going for the quick finish. So mad props for Abyss.

And I say get rid of RVD before Abyss. Abyss doesn't put his co-workers on the Disabled List because he's a sloppy pothead. Not saying Abyss is that much better, but at least he is dedicated. I mean look at what he did here, he is going to miss no ring time. Major props. Meanwhile RVD wins the TNA title and guess what happens, he leaves. RVD is an A S S.

But yeah I am real happy to see Abyss sticking in it and won't lose any time due to this mess, even though there is absolutely no reason he should continue with such an injury. But I give the man major props and this makes me respect him even more. His feud with Crimson should be decent as well if done right.

Another example of RVD slopiness, major props to Abyss for continuing.

Wow Abyss is a trooper for going through all that. Can't believe they didn't go for the quick finish since he would have been in a world of pain.

RVD has a habit of this and really if you were a wrestler in TNA you wouldn't want to wrestle him since he can't be trusted. They put their bodies on the line and then this guy is just reckless. He won't get punished for it either and I doubt the guy would even apologise.

As I said before I hope that either TNA or even RVD foot the bill for Abyss' dental bills.
