Dos Caras Jr. is now on Smackdown under the new name of Alberto Del Rio. The promo above aired on Smackdown this week. So the role he is playing is that he never tells a lie and that every else is liars. That is different but a very odd gimmick to play in wrestling. One thing that bugs me is they didn't bring him in with a mask on and with a gimmick similar to what he has done his whole career.

Dos Caras Jr. has huge raps on him, he is meant to be an exceptional talent and one that can take the place of the lead hispanic wrestler when Mysterio retires.

Your thoughts on the promo and gimmick? Also have you seen him wrestle before?

This is a decent promo but I wonder how far the gimmick can go. With that said the guy can wrestle but as WWE has proved many times that isn't enough.

This gimmick in it's current form won't take him far, it will need to evolve into something more substantial for him to get over with it. What I am most looking forward to is seeing him wrestle on WWE television and see what kind of moveset he is going to use in WWE.

How has he been the past month? I have been gone so haven't seen or read anything about him.

Has he been wrestling on Smackdown yet? Is he still on the roster? Has his character developed at all and is the character working for you?

He hasn't been on Smackdown yet. Just a bunch of hype videos for the guy, he's bound to debut soon. It looks to me like he's going to be a big part of Smackdown, but I really like the package videos he's done. It's interesting, entertaining and awesome. That's just my opinion.

I am surprised that he hasn't wrestled yet since it has been over a month since that first video. I want to see that guy actually wrestle and see if his style has been altered much by WWE. Will be good to see another new wrestler that hasn't come through NXT.

WWE is obviously very high on this guy;

pwinsider said:
OK, after the TV that was taped this week we all figured Alberto Del Rio was going to get a push. But, WWE has let the people that work for them know that too. Last night on WWE, a bio was put on WWE.com and it wasn't supposed to be live but much like what happened last week with Daniel Bryan's return being spoiled by the company website, it was leaked early. The bio said, and I quote:

"Are you ok with this for Del Rio's bio. Just asking because I know he's supposed to be a big deal, fairly quick."

Bad slip up by the wwe.com workers but it is just confirming what we all saw from Smackdown this week. He had a strong debut on Smackdown this week starting a feud with Rey Mysterio right away. His promo skills are there, his gimmick works and his match against Mysterio was good. The best thing was that he went over him clean.

High hopes here as long as he keeps his attitude in check. I have heard that some guys in the back are already having problems with him. With that said he is a good worker and has a good look.

It is always frustrating and confusing to me why some people would rub guys the wrong way backstage by having a massive ego when they have just started. They should be grateful for where they are and try to prove themselves to the new company. Hopefully some people put him straight and he gets his ego in check, he will do well if he can remain grounded.

How good is the addition of his own personal announcer to introduce him each match. Gives him more heel heat and makes him seem like a big deal right away. WWE is working this the right way and it is really all up to him now to grasp this opportunity and make himself a star. If he fails it will be down to him since WWE is doing all they can to make him big.
