This is what I've been waiting for them to add to a DBZ character creation and that alone makes me want this game. Hopefully u can have some unique moves and not have to just use from exisiting moves.

Spike put in character creator by their own admission to try and get their license renewed to publish the game, which is basically like SvR to THQ.

The thing with character creator is you train with a master, fly around the world and eventually learn to sense powers, build up your skills and wins sort of like Goku did in Dragon Ball, and over time you become more powerful. If you reach the pinnacle you will unlike a SSJ transformation. The developer said you could unlike many different ones depending on how you train and develop, which means you could do it the right way and advance like Gohan did from SSJ1 to SSJ2 or train wrong and become like future Trunks in his Ultra SSJ form. They also said you can just choose to build up yourself into a Full Power SSj like Goku when he fought Cell

They also revamped the battle system. You can no longer spam super moves. Your health bars are also replaced with an actual battle power gauge, which means you lose when you drop to 0. Fields are also destructible again.

Pretty good play especially the online compared to RB2. You have to strategize and manage your meter as well as notice tendencies of your opponents. There is no spam a super over and over or wild sense/afterimage.

I created a light saiyan. Named him Veku. My first master was Krillin, then Ginyu, then 18, and then Piccolo who got me to transform into a SSJ. Slowly building up all my categories, attacks, uniforms, hairstyles, power, masters, and so on. My cat is 4-1 online now. He lost the first match when he was a low level trash but won the next 4 after some more more hero mode training. I beat two created saiyans who couldn't transform of the big and average variety, SSJ3 Goku, and Piccolo. Started doing some training with Gohan as well.

The hero mode is for anyone who likes Dragon Ball and wants to see what it was like to be Goku basically. The fact you can use Nimbus is a nice touch as well.

And the story mode so far if on point and true to detail up to the Cell Games which is where I stopped. They really tried to be faithful to the story in regards to the way you play and i cant stress that enough. You don't simply build ki by pounding someone, you have to charge it up. You also can't just max out by charging to do ultimates over and over. You have to build to supers and your ultimate. You have to conserve ki to defend against techniques. Wave barrage battles are nice now with the new system which sort of reminds me of final bout. Boss battles are fun but hard as hell just like in the show since you didn't see Goku cpand the others just smacking ape Vegeta like it was nothing or Kamehameha him to death. The mini flying games are also very good, like trying to escape from Dadoria with gohan and krillin on Namek.

The best thing though is the anime cut scenes. They put Kai to shame as they are totally reanimated and what that series should have been.

I wasn't expecting to be pleased but am and would buy it over the other 3 next gen games that have hit 360 and ps3 for the DBZ franchise. They also are scheduled to have DLC

Far as creating your own guy is only Saiyans or can make a Namekians, human's etc too?

The game was originally scheduled to be named after the saiyans but Ultimate Tenkaichi won an American fan poll while Ultimate Blast won a Japan poll. It has been stated that female saiyans could be part of the DLC and humans/nameks might, as the creator of the game said maybe, but he wasn't allowed to discuss it or the DLC as Spike doesn't allow them to at the last Q&A. They were just allowed to confirm that their will be DLC unlike the last game and different from rb1 which was just super powered versions of the same characters

Ahh okay kinda sucks but wouldn't be surprised if they held it out for the next game instead and just glad they finally added the feature period. Guessing u pick ur moveset from exisiting move sets?

You pick a type - light (think Krillin as that type specializes in manipulating ki and speed), heavy (think Nappa with the power or Broly), or normal (think Goku who can learn the most techniques for his body type and has best balance of power and speed)

You then train with your master, mines was Krillin over Tien. You have to complete 60% of training with each master before you can change masters. I did 80 something with Krillin whose training gets harder as he bring in Gohan, Piccolo, and Goku for sparring sessions. At the end he taught me Kamehameha, gave me his fight type capsule which boost energy attacks, and added to my ki bar.

Then I found Ginyu (had the force train you in one session) and later 18/17 (if you get th game and fight them know they can double team you) on the map. After you beat them they offer to be your masters and give you dragon balls. The androids also give you the radar. I did 60 percent with Ginyu and he helped my d mostly. Then I trained with 18 who was really good at showing you combos and counters; finished 60 percent with her too. I also got a new technique from her.

Your power, health, defense, and other levels all build up as you train and fight.

The radar is a help as you can see clothes, hair, logos, battles, and balls on the map. Scouters are also nice as they can read powers from a distance in free roam and you can follow them. Nimbus is just a touch of dragon ball

I met Piccolo in battle and then he pushed me into becoming a SSJ by using the anger trigger like on the show. He gave me a ball, told me about omega Shenron, and offered to train me as well as unlocked the possibility to train with Goku, Gohan as a kid and teen, and

Also unlocked Majin Vegeta and Ultimate Gohan as possible masters

Will be amazing once they make it like WWE games where you can make your whole moveset and create your big moves and such. That's probably a game or two or away though before they go that far with it.

Would possibly be kind of hard since they would have to factor in the level of ki needed for each move, but yeah.

The other types might have other training.p so I plan on trying them later and finishing story mode. I beat Cell with Gohan. After that you start the movies before you get to Buu, I'm told. Meta Cooler (the giant one at the end of the movie who tried to eat or squash them) is a fucking dawg in his boss battle. He was shooting spikes from the floor and fucking killed me 7 times when Goku reverted to his base form

True but don't think it would be that hard to do honestly. Probably might be buggy at first if they were to add it and would have to work out kinks. My little brother has damn near got every DBZ game that has came out so might be a chance I might try it one day but idk. My main interest is/was the create a fighter. The training stuff sounds kinda cool too.

I'll try cooler again tomorrow because it is fucking hard to beat his big ass after Goku gives up all his energy. You will probably like the boss battles though.
