Our show next year is our last year of the show." Though Baldwin has made no secret of the fact that he plans to leave 30 Rock in 2012, this was the first time we've heard that the show itself would close up shop, too. But Baldwin says it's a done deal that Fey will be leaving. "Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great." Reps for Fey and the show declined to comment.

I think that 30 Rock is a great show but I understand why season six will be the final season. The ratings have never been huge and six seasons is a great effort for a comedy show these days. Like Baldwin said Tina Fey has so many bigger opportunities out there, she has already written and acted in some big films and it will just keep getting bigger for her.

I am hoping that the final season is a strong one and that ratings do increase for it since it is such a good show.

I totally agree Troy, this has been one of the best shows of the last ten years IMO, and will go down as a all time cult gem that people will be talking about for years to come.

I just think it suffers a little bit in later seasons, a bit like The American Office, because it started so strongly then it becomes hard to improve in later years, where as shows like Cheers and Seinfeld took three or four years to really get going, so were able to grow and get stronger as they moved along. Still 30 Rock has constantly entertained and suprised me, and the cast and characters are some of the most unique currently working on TV. I do think Fey could have a wonderful career as a director/writer very much in the Woody Allen mold.
