Zoey Starks praises Trish Stratus

Though their on-screen partnership may be over, Zoey Stark has plenty of kind words for Trish Stratus.

The alliance between Stark and Stratus came to an end after Stratus lost a steel cage match to Becky Lynch at Payback. In a post-match angle, Stratus was upset that Stark's interference in the match wasn't successful. She slapped Stark, and Stark responded by laying out Stratus with the Z-360.

Stark told SI FanNation that working with Stratus helped her grow as a performer and helped her understand the small details of pro wrestling better.

“She’s helped me grow my game,” Stark said. “Trish is so smart. Her knowledge of small details and how to project those, that separates from everyone else. When I see Trish wrestle, it all just makes so much sense.”

Stark also praised Stratus for being a legitimately nice person.

“Trish is so sweet,” Stark said. “She’s a genuinely nice person and she wants to help.

“I still remember finding out I’d be working with her. I’d just worked out with my husband, and we were going to Whole Foods–and that’s when I got the call. My heart stopped when I found out I’d work with Trish. It’s the opportunity I had been working for. My husband was next to me, and he threw his hands in the air. We were extremely happy.”

Stark and Stratus' alliance began when Stark helped her defeat Lynch at Night of Champions this May.

Following Payback, Stark was in action against Shayna Baszler on Raw last night. Stark lost the match -- but a new alliance seemed to form. Baszler and Stark showed respect to each other and fist-bumped after the match.

Stark told SI FanNation that her career right now is a dream come true.

“I’m blessed and grateful for this,” Stark said. “I’m excited to be where I’m at. This is every dream I’ve ever had.”
