New Day's Xavier Woods is currently out of action due to injury.

While appearing on G4's "Attack of the Show" on Thursday night, Woods revealed that he's out of action due to suffering a torn plantaris. Woods said he expects to be good in 4-6 weeks.

The plantaris is a muscle located underneath the calf. If Woods isn't able to return to the ring before the 4-6 weeks timetable, he would miss the Royal Rumble.

Woods said the injury happened when he was jumping into the ring to hit a DDT.

"I was jumping in the ring to do a DDT. I spring off the bottom rope and grab the guy and then run his head into the ground, hopefully shattering all the bones in his body so I can pin him and win the match and make more money," Woods said. "So, I did that part still. But in the process... just jumping off the ropes, so nothing like -- not a shark attack, not a steel chair hit, not a machine gun, not a machete -- I just jumped."

Woods said he was limited by the injury but was able to finish the match safely.

Woods was last in action in the main event of SmackDown last Friday. He and Kofi Kingston unsuccessfully challenged for The Usos' SmackDown Tag Team titles in a street fight.

The Usos also retained their SmackDown Tag Team titles against Woods & Kingston at WWE's Day 1 pay-per-view on New Year's Day.

Well, he probably wasn’t winning the rumble, anyway, so, he’s not missing anything.

I’m guessing it’s the DDT he does from the outside to the inside in all of his matches. Sounds like a freak injury. Hope he heals up well and quickly.

If they hadn’t announced Seth vs Roman for the Rumble, I would’ve said this would be the perfect time to give Kofi another short chase for the title. I don’t think anyone is expecting a title change at the Rumble anyway and Kofi could’ve bumped his ass off for Roman.
