My point is if they're shouting break his neck, they hate him. It's not a Kurt Angle you suck chant. A lot of people legit hated Cena back then.

Which is fine because WWE doesn't need draws anymore, but take WWE back to 1997 when they were fighting for their life and no top guy is getting booed like John Cena. The Rock became the most over guy in probably even because he was getting booed and WWE actually did something to fix it.

Anyways, there's no point in this. I just simply liked that Cena did his old gimmick again and I want Cena to go World Life again or one last run, if you guys don't. That's fine. we disagree.

Nah I'd be all for that for one last run or so, I just didn't think the rapper gimmick would have been sustainable as a top main eventer for as long as Cena ended up being in the main event scene. Super Cena, like it or not, is what gave him his longevity

If he was in the 80s and 90s he’d have been cheered by everyone like Hogan.

You stuck on this “people boo him so he’s not the top guy” schtick and it’s completely wrong. The company used him as the top guy, he WAS a draw(as they advertised his appearances and returns to drum up more views) and he sold like hot cakes.

By ANY metric he WAS the top guy. Just because some people that thought they new better booed him doesn’t change that fact. If he was booed by everyone(like Roman was) you’ll have a point. But that’s simply not the case.

Then there's no reason to be arguing anything at all. I simply said I wanted him to return a gimmick I didn't think he should have abandoned as soon as he did, it didn't need to become a big debate. I still don't see why people think Cena is the only top guy in a 100-year history that didn't need to be cheered by the whole crowd, but that's fine. We disagree. Mania time now.

Who said anything about he deserved that? He didn’t. But this guy acting like a part of the crowd booing a guy meant he wasn’t the top guy.

There’s a better argument that Roman wasn’t because he was booed worse than Cena ever was imo(and didn’t deserve that.
