"As part of the media push to promote the movie, Batista was Chris Jericho’s guest this week on the Talks is Jericho podcast. Of course, Jericho asked Batista if we’ll ever see him in a WWE ring again and Batista gave a surprising answer. The 6-time world champion said there’s one angle that would draw him back to WWE and revealed that he’s actually pitched the idea to Vince McMahon and Triple H.

“I’ve asked, yeah, I’ve asked,” he said. “Well, there’s… I’ve asked for what I want. I’ll tell you and I’ve talked to Hunter about it and I’ve talked to Vince about it. I said I would come back and run a whole program with Hunter. That’s the only thing I’m interested in doing. They’re just not interested in it, you know?”

When asked if he’d return and work with anybody else besides Triple H, Batista said, “At this point, no, because it would be my retirement thing. It would be what I would go out on. I would come back and I’d do a whole program and then I’d be done.” "

Eh, I get that Batista wants to work and put over one of his best friends, but why wouldn't he want to put over the up-and-coming talent if he were to come back?

It would help the younger talent more, since HHH is already one of the GOAT.

Because he wants to go out in Goldberg fashion. I mean, look at the way EVERYONE in the building called Goldberg out repeatedly on WWE TV. I bet Ryback is sitting somewhere being bitter about leaving, because THAT position is what Ryback wanted. Look at that. But Batista he wanted to get over with the fans, he wanted to be remembered as one of the greatest superstars. Vince isn't behind it because Batista is just not over. It would mean Vince would have to think about it, plan it, pull some weight, make phone calls (to his divisions), and this and that. Get everything set up. It's basically what happened with Undertaker. And for that to happen, Batista would have to pull his own weight in the ring, too. You look at Seth Rollins, and you see the very best in the business today, Batista is just "a little too soon, and a little too late." He bowed out too quickly, and asked for this thing he's talking about with Hunter/Vince too late.

Also, this would explain why Triple H went heel, and only does a few matches. This explains it. I was confused about this, but it all makes sense now.

Batista should return as a heel and put over AJ Styles. Face AJ vs heel Batista. It would be awesome seeing the returning animal in that fashion and battle styles. He already put over Bryan, so I guess it doesn't make sense for triple h and Batista to fight, really. I mean they could, but triple h would sure as hell be the face and idk it would prob suck.
