THey won't put in a substitute.... either a handicap match will be made or a match where Edge is only tagged in for like five seconds.
They can't just throw in a random substitute without any reasoning or backup as to why he suits there? seriously it jsut wouldn't make sense.... well it's not like they haven't done that before but still isn't smart in my opinion.

^^^It would be effectively like handing over the title to another star which whenever it's been attempted in the past (most famously Andre > DiBiase) it's resulted in the new recipient being stripped and the title vacated.
I know ultimately WWE can do what they want, but they're defo in a bit of a tight corner over this as it ties in heavily with one of the few constant rulings they have ever really enforced over the years (i.e. if you're unable to defend your title, your forfeit it).
When exactly? (Remember, we're talking tag champs here which is it's own unique predicament)...This is what I've been getting at all along.
In fact, the more I think about it, just stripping Edge & Jericho may be the least disruptive/destructive solution.... Jericho (and Edge) would remain heel (Most fans would lap up their losing the straps), then as the initial pop subsides simply hand Legacy the belts by default. This will get the fans further on their backs like it did when HHH was handed the WHC by Bischoff during the early days of the brand split. Jericho can continue to spout off about a conspiracy and should the writers care to go 'there' he can always attack Edge in a fit of paranoia, blaming him for lossing the belts, when he eventually returns from injury should there have ever been an Edge/Y2J fued on the (eventual) horizon.

I actually think they are going to have a Handicap Match, but I was just saying to Evil Austin that if they wanted to throw in a substitute, they could explain it in the shows to come, as he seems to believe that there's no logical way a substitute could be put in the equation.

I mean you could probably put one in but I am saying a handicap one would be much more better as it wouldn't be very logical and wouldn't make much sense as to the world the current tag team champions are Edge and Chris Jericho who are going to defend their titles against Priceless... how are they going to defend that gold of Edge isn't even there and it is replaced by someone who isn't even the title holder...
Basically, how would they say that suddenly instead of Edge and Jericho walking in as the champs say Kendrick and Jericho walk in as champs and out of the blue Kendrick and Edge switch places and he is now one half the tag team champions...
I am just saying it would be a big wtf moment and wouldn't make sense to me.

And I am telling you they have an entire week to explain the switch, as before the actual PPV we still have one more Raw and one more Smackdown to go.

actually come to think of it they did to something along the lines of this a last moment switch last year at Night of Champions when Cody and Holly walked in as the champions, Ted was saying for about three weeks now that he has a surprise partner and it was going to be Cody... Cody and Ted beat Holly and Cody walked in as the champion, and then left as the champion. They might do something along the lines of that.

^^^That's not the same at all.... Cody abdicated from the champions to the challengers; risking his belt/partnership only to win it back again as a part of Priceless.

TBH, I don't know how they could justify a substitute, or under what premise the Jericho promo doing so would be or how the promo would be like. All I know is that if they indeed wanted to go with the substitute scenario, they'd have 2 shows to justify, which would mean at least 1 segment on Raw and judging by how much time Y2J gets on Smackdown, like 3 on Smackdown to do so.

(I've lost track of SD tapings and such, I was confused to see Edge this Friday night... Will NEXT week actually be the first taping since they announced his injury?)

Yeah, a whole set of shows were taped early due to the Australian tour (I think) so this coming Raw will be the first show lacking the awesomeness of Edge.
And I disagree, I think they set up a Jericho/Ziggler faction. Although I fully expect young Dolph to take the title in the coming months or two.

The thought had crossed my mind...
I really hope they don't deviate from whatever plans they had for Ziggler just to fix this tag title scenario tho'. The guy is hot and they need to keep their eye on the prize.

^^ Throw a heel Melina in as a valet for a stable like that (just coz shes hot and she pwns) and I'd value Smackdown more than my life.
