I think this question should be asked for the following reasons...

April Jeanette was only 28 years old when she retired from in-ring competion. True, she had a problem with her cervical spine, but since she hadn't yet reached 30, (the age of full physical maturity), reconstructive surgery or the like could have repaired the damage.

Having accomplished all she wanted to in wrestling was a strange thing to say for someone under 40. It also sounds a little like a cover story to hide another reason.

Could it be said that her pipebomb in 2013 caused more damage than we thought?

Punk left. AJ left. Too much animosity between WWE and Punk, so AJ stood by her man.

She left to move on to other things. She made a lot of money, she accomplished everything she wanted to in WWE.. She wanted to become an author and potentially do other things.. That's the real answer.

I understand where you are coming from. The WWE had turbulence with Punk. I saw his pipebomb and its blast must've charred Vince and his family like no other. I imagine AJ left in support of her husband and in protest of the lower salaries paid to women wrestlers.

What bugs me, though, is that she had to go so young. I mean, she could've gone strong for another seven years and then gracefully retired, having done even more than she'd already done.

Women tend to retire young in wrestling anyways.. Either they want to dabble into other projects or WWE get's rid of them to make room for the younger women... Wrestling was just a chapter in her life and she can become so much bigger if she wants to.

OK. Well I hope the new chapter continues to tell her life's story well. The only thing I would advise her to do is be careful with what she says. On Twitter, she replied to the pregnancy rumors by claiming that she was too attached to her abs.

That statement can be taken in one of two ways.

1) She likes her body the way it is and fears that pregnancy and post partum would change her body in a way she wouldn't like.

2) Her abs are too tight, owing the fact that her body doesn't allow for her lower muscles to expand much, possibly due to her small height and narrow frame.

AJ's remark is out there, it can be googled by anyone and I'm afraid people might choose to think that she is abstaining from childbirth due to physiological reasons or vanity and use either notion to make mean comentary about her.

Before this year, I never aired what people said for the sake of argument, but nowadays I realise that it's often too late to keep quiet about facts shared on-line. What people say is uploaded to the internet, it circulates quickly, so quotes from everyone become known in a short space of time, offering ammunition of various calibres to be used against them, which can't be destroyed because anyone can load it into their guns and use it.

I agree, but her entire Twitter is a joke, not in a bad way. Everything she says it seems she try's to be funny..

I'm not into reading much, but i listened to AJ's audio book, and she describes her entire life story so well.. This woman had a fucked up life.. I was never a fan of her's in WWE, but i gained a lot more respect for her after listening to her book. She had a rough childhood.

My guess was it had to do a lot with Punk. I think she would have stuck around a few more years at least before doing other things.

honestly, I don't think it had that much to do with Punk. I'd say it was definitely a part of her decision, given that it's kinda odd being the middle man/woman between your workplace and your husband, but you also gotta consider the fact that she stayed with the company for over a year after Punk's brutal departure. Neither did the company treat her any worse because of Punk.. it was more like the opposite, after she came back in the summer of 2014, she got to win the Divas title 2 or 3 more times before calling it quits after a victory at Mania.

My guess is that she probably didn't feel the passion for the business anymore, not because they screwed her over or Punk convinced her to think a certain way but moreso because there wasn't much more for her to do that she hasn't done already. After leaving the E, she was a household name with a bit of money to it, which made it easier for her to transition into other passions and she took that opportunity to be more than just a former wrestler, and it seems to be working well for her
