When I first started watching the WWE (WWF at that time) The Rock had a tattoo already but that was his Brahma Bull, which was the only one he had, that small one with the horns sticking upward and the red eyes with the smoke coming out of its nose (which is also the logo used on all of his merchandise) including the back of his trunks. But in his later appearances he got another tattoo that covers up his other shoulder and upper arm, into his back and then later on his pectoral muscle. Which we now know are his traditional Samoan tribal tattoos, I know it was sometime when he wrestled Hulk Hogan after WrestleMania in 2002 but it was after he turned heel and changed his theme music with the helicopter thing in his entrance video that didn't include the "If ya smell what The Rock is cooking" at beginning of it, all he says is just "Is cooking" before the music started. But I can't remember what year it was.
